This document discusses the role of open platforms in digital transformation of manufacturing industries. It describes the needs of industries, particularly small and medium enterprises, to better understand emerging technologies and develop digital strategies. Specific technologies discussed include natural language processing, machine vision, health monitoring, industrial IoT, and blockchain. The document also outlines the maturity of digital platforms in supporting these technologies. It provides an example of the FASTEN application that integrates various technologies like FI-ROS, CEP rules, analytics tools, and databases.
