Why Ireland needs a CONUL Union Catalogue, Eoin McCarney

Editor's Notes

  • #9 Increase brand awareness – CONUL is not a well known or well understood brand. This needs to change, we are doing lots of good work. We need people to know who we are and what we do. We can do this with our new website and a union catalogue.
  • #10 A flagship for Irish research and culture. Irish studies is one of the fastest growing humanities disciplines worldwide. CONUL libraries have world class holdings of Irish related material – vital to researchers across the globe. Why not bring it together in one place.
  • #11 Give us a platform for collaboration- when we try to do things together it’s difficult without shared holdings. CONUL distributed print archive, I.L.L etc.
