Why all the Nature is of Green Colour?
The ancient Indian educational institutions like Pushpagiri, Nalanda and Takshashila mainly focused
on 3 Gunnas (Qualities of nature) namely; Tamas, Rajas & Sattva. These 3 Gunnas symbolizes
Brahma Vishnu Mahesh. All the nature is composed of these 3 gunnas. The depth of these things is
too much and can’t be discussed briefly. These 3 qualities are mainly represented by 3 colours;
Blue/violet for Tamas, Red for Rajjas and Green for Sattva. There’s a deep scientific logic behind
some of the things we don’t even think about usually. There’s logic behind red and green colour of
traffic lights, there’s logic behind blue coloured pen for students and red coloured pen for Teachers,
there’s logic for using red coloured light bulbs in submarines and underground army bunkers, there’s
logic people offer water to rising sun when it’s of red colour, there’s logic for having photoelectric
effect by blue light not red, there’s logic why Lord Shiva also named as Neel(Blue)Kanth, there’s
logic why all the nature is of green colour.
Tamas means ability to Sleep/Rest. If you have Balanced Tamas than you can sleep well at night. It’s
just one example. But if you cannot sleep it’s because you have uncontrolled Tamas. Uncontrolled
Tamas also leads to depression, loneliness and ultimately if goes worse, it leads to suicidal tendencies.
Blue light associated with high energy and less wavelength. Most of our technological appliances like
mobiles, tv, computer, laptops etc. emit blue coloured light which can cause damage to our eyes and
even our brain’s activity related to concentration and sleep. Concentration is build up by release of
neurotransmitters dopamine in brain. High blue intensity decreases the level of dopamine release that
affects concentration. It’s simply can be treated by less blue and high Red Coloured filter. Some
mobile phones have inbuilt eye protection switch which simply decrease the blue intensity and shift
towards red intensity. But too much of Red intensity can lead to higher Rajas.

Rajas means ability to Act. We can move, talk, act because we have Rajas. If its gets uncontrolled that
leads to anger, violence to self and others. People who do crimes is because they have uncontrolled
Rajas. This is presented by colour red. When balanced; red colour symbolizes Love but when
disturbed it symbolizes action, danger and violence. The disturbed state can be treated by high
intensity of blue and less intensity of red.
When we balance both, a beautiful thing happens and that is Sattva. Sattva is the balanced form of
Tamas and Rajas. All the Nature is in balanced state. Balanced colour of Electromagnetic Spectrum is
Green. Green (Balanced energy) lies in between of shades of blue (High energy) and red (Less
energy). People who studied immunology well aware of the function of thymus gland in our body that
provides protection against diseases. Thymus gland is represented by Heart chakras in Vedas which
symbolizes green colour. People in balanced state (Sattva) have higher immunity, peace and success
than others. When the balance is disturbed, that sets Nature into action by earthquakes, floods, sunami
etc. Even if it gets disturbed in us, we get infected by diseases.
