WordPress version 3.8 is named after jazz musician Charlie Parker. It was developed over 4 months by 188 contributors led by Matt Mullenweg using a new "plugin-first" approach. Major new features include an all-new admin theme with improved design and user experience, and a new front-end theme designed for online magazines. The new development approach is intended to allow for more frequent minor updates throughout the year.
