The document discusses various technologies used to construct a product. The individual learned how to:
1. Use a Fuji camera to take high quality photos and learned camera functions.
2. Watch YouTube tutorials to learn techniques for the cover, contents page, and double page spread.
3. Use Photoshop Elements 8.0 at home to edit photos by removing red eye, softening edges, and removing blemishes using the clone tool.
4. Use Photoshop CS5 at school which allowed adjusting color, tone, and brightness/darkness of images.
5. Use InDesign to design the product by changing columns and adding shapes to include additional information.
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Camera
• – I used my own Fuji camera to take all of the
pictures on. Because I had used the camera
before, it meant that I knew how to use it and
how to use it to the best of its ability so I could
get some high quality photos.
3. Youtube
• I used youtube at various different times when constructing
my cover, contents page and double page spread. I used it to
look at video tutorials on some of the techniques that I
wanted to use on my products. This allowed me to be more of
an independent worker and it also allowed me to learn more
effectively, after watching the video I knew how to do the
different techniques.
4. Photoshop elements 8.0
• – I have this software at home, which allowed me to work out of school
hours so I could make sure I got everything done in the time given. I
mainly used this software to edit my photographs on; this meant that
when I got back into school and into my lessons, I could go straight onto
constructing and designing my three products. When using this software I
learnt how to get rid of red eye and how to make the edges a lot softer
and how to get rid of blemishes, using the plaster tool. This allowed my
images to look more aesthetic. When using this software I also learnt how
to use the clone tool, which is the feature I used to get rid of the shadows
in the background of my selected images.

6. Photoshop CS5
• This is the software that I used at school. It is a much better software than
photoshop elements because there are more features, and it is easier to
use. I used this technology in my double page spread when getting the
skyscraper for the bands logo, and getting it to fit in. I found a picture on
google images and then pasted it in photoshop. With this technology it
allowed me to change the contrasts of the brightness/darkness and the
tone of the image. This is what made the image of the skyscraper black.

7. Indesign
• I used Indesign to create my products on. I found it a lot easier to control and
design on than photoshop. With Indesign I learnt how to change the columns
into three’s, so it would look more appealing on a double page spread and
realistically look like one that you would find in a shop. At first I did only use two
columns, but I don’t think it worked that well. I also learnt how to add in
numerous square shapes so I could work in them, this is what I did for the one in
the right hand corner, this allowed me to add a conventional feature of a music
magazine and to add additional information about the band.
