Creative Commons licenses provide authors flexibility in how they share their work. They allow authors to choose how much access others have to copy, distribute, and build upon the work, such as only for non-commercial purposes or requiring attribution. To use a Creative Commons license, authors select the conditions of use and label their work with the appropriate license designation. People can find works with Creative Commons licenses through online searches. When developing a presentation, presenters should focus the message, connect with the audience, and keep the slides simple and easy to understand.
I am giving a short series of talks to preservice teachers in NIE on Creative Commons and how this impacts their e-portfolios and practice.

Schools are encouraged to license learning resources they create under Creative Commons (CC) licenses whenever possible. Applying a CC license allows teachers to freely access, use, modify and share the resource. To license a resource under CC, educators select a license, add the license icon and attribution to the resource, and include a copyright statement reflecting the CC license. The CC BY license is recommended as it allows for the greatest reuse, while CC BY-NC and CC BY-ND restrict reuse. Third party content cannot be licensed under CC and must be prominently marked as excluded.
