and strategic advice to private
individuals, government institutions, and

climbs up the ranks usually by trying
investment banking for several years,
learning the ropes that initially include
conducting nancial analysis, drafting
memorandums and spreadsheet models,

In general, analysts aid the client in developing sound and effective investments, usually
beginning with assessing the client’s needs. The work includes making clients’ investment
goals clear or researching investment opportunities, assuming they are not sold on one yet.
If clients already have existing investment portfolios, investment banking analysts help
identify which ones are generating good pro t and suggest doing away or replacing those
that are underperforming.
