Canada provided substantial aid to Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake. In the short term, Canada airlifted over 4,600 Canadians to safety, reunited 203 Haitian children with families in Canada, and sent disaster response teams and medical personnel to assist with search and rescue and healthcare. Canada also contributed over $600 million in financial support for emergency humanitarian aid and long-term reconstruction efforts. Canada has been one of the largest donors helping Haiti recover from the earthquake.
