HELP HAITI On Tuesday January 12th 2010, The island of Haiti was hit with a devastating earthquake. The magnitude of the quake was 7.0 on rector scale, which caused massive damage. Haiti needs our help in their desperate time of need.
[object Object]
80% of all Haiti is poor.
This earthquake has completely demolished the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince
This is a major humanitarian crisis.
People are left with no food, water or shelter.
It could take up to 10 years to rebuild Haiti.,[object Object]
Main buildings, homes, schools, and even hospitals have been entirely destroyed.
The Presidential Palace has been destroyed leaving the President of Haiti homeless. This earthquake not only affected poor people but the wealthy as well.
Haiti is in a horrible condition. They really need our help.
3 Million people have been affected by this earthquake. 1.5 million are homeless, with nowhere to sleep, and nothing to eat or drink. They’ve lost everything.
Thousands require medical attention and cannot reach it. Medical supplies are limited and since hospitals are destroyed they cannot be treated for their injuries.
They are so desperate that they are using anything they can get their hands on to treat their injuries. This little boy’s leg is broken, and since they don’t have proper medical supplies they used a cardboard box as cast.
Over 200,000 people have died and they are predicting many more deaths. Dead bodies are piled on the sidewalks and there are thousands that are trapped under the concrete and rubble that still need assistance.
They are preparing a mass grave. Since the graveyards are full, they have had to create mass graves where they will bury hundreds of bodies at one time. They have no other option as the bodies start to decompose diseases will outbreak.
They are disposing the bodies in a mass grave. Its very sad that their deaths seem meaningless. There is no record of who they are or ever were.
Help is on the way……..
Search and rescue teams from all over the globe have been rushing to Haiti to assist in the relief effort. People are still trapped in collapsed buildings like this.
Special K-9 units have been deployed to Haiti to search for survivors trapped under rubble.
Its been over a week now, and the search for survivors is beyond desperate. This has become a major humanitarian crisis.
Medical teams have arrived on site. Even though hospitals have been destroyed, they are treating people anywhere they can.
People like you and I have helped and that’s how water, food and medical supplies have been transported to Haiti.
Thousands of tents have been set up by the Red Cross and other organizations to give shelter to those affected by the quake. This was all possible by given donations.
Makeshift hospitals have been set up by the Red Cross and others to treat those affected by this devastating earthquake.

  • 26. My Campaign To Help Haiti On Behalf of The Red Cross
  • 27. The reason I want to help Haiti is because so many lives have been lost, and many people have been injured. Its very hard to see so many people helpless. I believe we can make a difference. This is our time to step in and make a difference as a group. I am collecting funds to help the victims of this devastating earthquake. Once I gather the funds I will send them to The American Red Cross that is situated in Port-au-Prince. The Red Cross will use the funds to buy medical supplies, water, blankets and basic necessities that are needed in Haiti. Haiti is a very poor country. 80% of the population lives below the poverty line. It’s our job to unite together and help our fellow man kind regardless of race, religion or color.
