Whales and dolphins are mammals that give live birth and nurse their young. Dolphins have belly buttons and are generally playful and friendly towards humans and children. Whale babies are born tail first or head first and communicate using whistling sounds and head movements. Mothers nurse their dolphin calves for the first month before teaching them to find their own food.
