High-speed performance saves rig time. High-torque,
high-speed spinner, automatic thread compensation, and full
40° wrenching angle combine to provide super-fast makeup and
breakout operations.
Get breakout performance to spare. Torque delivery capability
of up to 100,000 ft-lb, in conjunction with high-speed spinner
and wide-angle 40° rotation, provides outstanding breakout
performance. TorkWrench tongs are prepared to break out your
high-torque drillpipe.
Get heavy-duty reliability with fewer moving parts. Less is
more. Fewer parts, combined with proven standard components,
create a no-nonsense design built to last. Maintenance is greatly
simplified, and the need for spares is reduced.
Get the cost-saving convenience of interchangeable parts.
Many of the parts for the TorkWrench 10-100 and the TorkWrench
10-100 MBU are fully interchangeable. This convenience reduces

the TorkWrench system gives you an intelligent pneumatic control
that combines various working steps into a simpler, timesaving and safe
operation.
Innovative control makes it safe. You can disconnect the pneumatic
control box from the tong unit and relocate to operate from a safe

Avoid drillpipe damage. Free-floating spinning system, which is
designed to follow the movement of the pipe, and three-jaw gripping
system eliminate damage caused by conventional systems and protect

TorkWrench 10-100 mobile bucking unit
for offline makeup
Weatherford’s versatile TorkWrench iron roughneck also can be
converted to a mobile bucking unit, which has the same technical
specifications as the vertical unit. The unit enables offline makeup
of drilling tools, drillpipe and BHAs, providing significant time savings.
The TorkWrench 10-100 mobile bucking unit is designed for making
and breaking joints of drillpipe ranging from 2-1/2 to 10 in. in diameter.
Installation of the TorkWrench 10-100 mobile bucking unit saved US$3 million
worth of critical-path time for a major operator offshore Australia.
The TorkWrench mobile bucking unit
was used for efficient offline makeup
and breakout of BHA components,
cementing heads and running tools
on the pipe deck for 12 wells. Instal-lation
of the unit saved 204 hours
of rig time, worth approximately
US$3 million for the entire operation.

The TorkWrench iron roughneck enhanced rig safety and saved
changeover and labor costs for a client in Germany. Installation was
completed in less than 1 hour, after which the unit was fully operational.
The operator saved money by adopting an off-the-shelf, ATEX-certified
tool. The unit required just one operator, and its standard hands-off
control capacity enhanced safety by reducing the risk of an explosion
and by keeping the tool operator away from hazardous areas on the
rig floor.

for an operator offshore Abu
Dhabi. The unit was used to make
and break a 5-in. drillpipe string
and 8 1/2-in. drill collar, providing

Control equipment safely from a distance.
Weatherford’s TorkWrench iron roughneck comes standard with pneumatic-over-hydraulic control. The
control box is attached to the front of the tool or can be disconnected and operated from a safe distance
with no modifications. Remote-control operation can be made available.
