सुखी रहने के लिए स्वस्थ रहना आवश्यक है। शरीर स्वस्थ तो मन स्वस्थ। शरीर की तंदरुस्ती भोजन, व्यायाम आदि पर निर्भर करती है। भोजन कब एवं कैसे करें, इसका ध्यान रखना चाहिए। यदि भोजन करने का सही ढंग आ जाय तो भारत में कुल प्रयोग होने वाले खाद्यान्न का पाँचवाँ भाग बचाया जा सकता है। भोजन नियम से, मौन रहकर एवं शांतचित्त होकर करो। जो भी सादा भोजन मिले, उसे भगवान का प्रसाद समझकर खाओ। हम भोजन करने बैठते हैं तो भी बोलते रहते हैं। ʹपद्म पुराणʹ में आता है कि ʹजो बातें करते हुए भोजन करता है, वह मानो पाप खाता है।ʹ कुछ लोग चलते-चलते अथवा खड़े-खड़े जल्दबाजी में भोजन करते हैं। नहीं ! शरीर से इतना काम लेते हो, उसे खाना देने के लिए आधा घंटा, एक घंटा दे दिया तो क्या हुआ ? यदि बीमारियों से बचना है तो खूब चबा-चबाकर खाना खाओ। एक ग्रास को कम-से-कम 32 बार चबायें। एक बार में एक तोला (लगभग 11.5 ग्राम) से अधिक दूध मुँह में नहीं डालना चाहिए। यदि घूँट-घूँट करके पियेंगे तो एक पाव दूध भी ढाई पाव जितनी शक्ति देगा। चबा-चबाकर खाने से कब्ज दूर होती है, दाँत मजबूत होते हैं, भूख बढ़ती है तथा पेट की कई बीमारियाँ भी ठीक हो जाती हैं। मांस, अंडे, शराब, बासी, जूठा, अपवित्र आदि तामसी भोजन करने से शरीर एवं मन-बुद्धि पर घातक प्रभाव पड़ता है, शरीर में बीमारियाँ पैदा हो जाती हैं। बुद्धि स्थूल एवं जड़ प्रकृति की हो जाती है। ऐसे लोगों का हृदय मानवीय संवेदनाओं से शून्य हो जाता है। खूब भूख लगने पर ही भोजन करना चाहिए। खाने का अधिकार उसी को है जिसे भूख लगी हो। कुछ नासमझ लोग स्वाद लेने के लिए बार-बार खाते रहते हैं। पहले का खाया हुआ पूरा पचा न पचा कि ऊपर से दुबारा ठूँस लिया। ऐसा नहीं करें। भोजन स्वाद लेने की वासना से नहीं अपितु भगवान का प्रसाद समझकर स्वस्थ रहने के लिए करना चाहिए। चबा-चबाकर भोजन करें, सात

KEEPING IT REAL
While I was taking care of the kids all the time I was not able to
give myself enough time. However, they have now started going to
school and I have time for myself. I make sure that I follow what I
need to do in order to bring my body fit.
WHAT’S THE SECRET?
I am a vegetarian and I make sure that there is plenty of protein
in my diet. I don’t do anything extra, but I make sure that I go for
my walk and that I stick to the diet that I have been prescribed by
my dietician.
Thirty four-year-old Joycee Arneja dotes
on her nine-year-old twins. After the kids
were able to start going to school and Joycee
found time to herself, she decided to work
on her health. She says that staying fit is all
about routine. This housewife lost 10 kgs over

CTE Festaweek - A Week long
Cultural and Literary festival
kicked off to a grand start this
morning with events like solo
song, group dance, fashion
show, nukkad natak, quiz and not to
miss Western Group Dance. The festival
includes cultural and literary events of
TURF- Inter School Competition, KO-
SHISH - Intra PCTE Group of Institutes
Competition and EHSAAS - Inter College
Competition. Turf gave a grand start to
all of them on Wednesday.
In total 32 teams from various schools
of Ludhiana district participated in TURF
competition today. The overall trophy
was taken by BCM Shastri Nagar, who
won 1st position in JAM (Just A Minute),
Solo Song, Quiz, Dumb Chardes and
Debate, DAV Public School won 2nd
position while taking the first position
in Oven Love (Baking Competition)
whereas 3rd position was won by Spring
Dale Public School where they stood
first in Group Dance. Cash Prizes worth
50,000 were given to the winners.
The stage and the audience remained
jam-packed throughout the day right
unto the night. Long day’s hard work,
practice and fighting for perfection in
their performances, spirit of winning
of the students was going to pay them
results. “I am so fortunate to be a part
of this mega event, I have enjoyed every
bit of it and now thrilled to witness
the results” said Ali Nahil, student of
ATHM-1.
