2. Nissan to unveil diesel variant of Micra
in India
Nissan Motor India Limited will unveil the diesel
variant of its Micra compact hatchback car in
December second week.
India will be the first country to have the 1.5-litre
K9K diesel version of Micra hatchback with
intelligent key, immobilizer, a push-button engine
start-stop system and electric foldable mirror.
Nissan formed the 50:50 joint venture with French
automaker Renault to set up a manufacturing plant at
Oragadam near Chennai.
3. Cadbury to start producing Kraft Foods'
Tang in India
Cadbury will start local manufacturing of parent Kraft
Foods' orange drink Tang.
It will also embark on a capacity expansion for its
confectionery products.
Earlier Tang was being imported from Thailand and
now will be produced at Kraft's Hyderabad plant.
Cadbury India came under the Kraft Foods fold after
the US-based firm acquired British candy maker,
Cadbury Plc for $19.6 billion.
4. Toyota gears up for Etios launch in India
on Wednesday
Japanese automobile giant Toyota Motor
Corporation is gearing up for the launch of Etios
car in India on Wednesday with its President Akio
Toyoda flying down for the event.
The launch is undoubtedly a major milestone for
Toyota's Indian entity -- the Toyota Kirloskar
Motor Private Limited, its joint venture with the
Kirloskar Group.
5. RIL ranked 20th in list of world's largest
chemical firms
The country's most valued firm, Reliance Industries ,
has been named among the world's top 20 chemical
companies in a global ranking.
The company led by industrialist Mukesh Ambani has
been ranked at 20th position in the ICIS Top 100
Chemicals Companies list, which was topped by
German major BASF.
6. Facebook to patent the word face
Facebook is planning to trademark the word ‘face’
because it wants to stop other companies using the
term in a way which damages its own brand.
Facebook providing online chat room and electronic
bulletin boards for transmission of messages among
computer users in the field of general interest and
social and entertainment subject matter.

8. Samsung non-commital on setting up
solar photovoltaic unit
Stating that South India is the largest market for
Samsung, he said the company has invested a total of
nearly Rs 576 crore till date and provided
employment to 1500 people at the Chennai facility.
Samsung India currently has two manufacturing
facilities in India. The Sriperumbudur facility is the
company's sixth manufacturing unit globally.
