Tata Motors will ask Nano owners to bring their cars back to add free safety devices to prevent fires. India's largest fuel retailer IOC may raise petrol prices by 35 paise per liter this week due to rising crude oil costs, which would be the third hike since prices were deregulated in June. Telecom Minister A. Raja resigned at the request of his party leader to avoid embarrassment for the government over the 2G spectrum scandal. Food inflation declined for a fourth week but remains high at 12.3%, and increased compared to the previous year.

2.  Tata motors said they would ask Nano
customers to bring back their cars to add
safety devices free of cost to prevent tge
vehicles from catching fire.
 Company officials said these are the
additional protection being provided, else
Nano is quite safe.

3.  India’s biggest fuel retailer IOC is
considering raising petrol prices by 35 paise
per litre this week as the crude oil prices
have gone up.
 If government increases the prices this will
be the third hike in petrol prices since
government freed its pricing on June 26
 IOC decision is expected to be followed by
other state run fuel retailers- Bharat
Petroleum Corp and Hindustan Petroleum
Corp

4.  After meeting the prime minister this
evening, Telecom Minister A Raja confirmed
that he had resigned.
 "In order to avoid embarrassment to the
Government and maintain peace and
harmony in Parliament, my leader (DMK
chief M Karunanidhi) has advised me to
resign," Raja told.

5.  Food Inflation declined for the fourth week
in a row to a one year low but government
remain concerned over the pace of the
decline
 The food inflation declined to 12.3% but it
has increased when compared to previous
year figures which was 12.59% a year ago.
