Miami Shores
Animal Clinic
A GLIMPSE INTO MY INTERNSHIP
EXPERIENCE
Camryn Granger
History in the Making
 Miami Shores Animal Clinic has been a full service clinic to Miami Shores and surrounding
neighborhood residents for four years. With extensive experience and a passion for animal health, Dr.
Cameau, Dr. Noguera, and the rest of the Miami Shores Animal Clinic team have made it their
responsibility to care for their client’s pets.
Miami
Mission
 We are a full service clinic that will take both emergency as well as less
urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues. Our goal is to provide excellent
customer service while building a long-term relationship based on our
commitment to our clients. Our staff is professional, caring, and courteous at
all levels of the practice. We are committed to communicating and educating
our clients through our procedures. We stress the importance of our client’s
involvement in the health and well-being of their pet’s medical conditions.
This is accomplished through the collection of the thorough history of your
pet’s health, conducting necessary diagnostics, tailoring a medical or
behavioral protocol specific to the ailment of concern, and continuing to
follow up with you until the condition is resolved or under control. Clients are
kept in full knowledge of their pet’s well-being at all times. We proudly serve
the Miami Shores area and surrounding neighborhoods.

 This internship has given me a realistic glimpse into my

professionalism. Things such as…
 Being punctual at all times
 Respecting constructive criticism
 Being receptive to learning new things
 Having a positive attitude in the work environment
 Holding yourself accountable for your actions
One of my favorite things to do
at work would have to be
grooming the pets. With the
help of my co-worker, Taimelin, I
was able to bond with the
pets—beyond their medical
needs.
Dr. Cameau performing a typical spay on a female dog.
Patience and precision is key when dealing with small
animals.
Ear infections are fairly common
amongst cats and dogs. Cleaning
their ears is imperative for keeping a
healthy and happy pet.
One of my biggest accomplishments at the clinic was nursing a
dog named Sarge back to health. Sarge was attacked by multiple
dogs in his neighborhood and suffered multiple wounds as a
result. He is still on his way to a full recovery but he has come a
long way.
BEFORE AFTER
Animals can receive acupuncture too! This alternative form of
medicine relieve stress and tension a pet might have.
Resulting in the decrease of pain or aggressiveness.
Being in the Veterinary Science and
Agricultural Technology academy at Turner
Tech, my passion for animals and the
agricultural industry as a whole has
increased from year to year. My goal this
summer was to expand my knowledge of
veterinary medicine and interning at Miami
Shores Animal Clinic was the perfect
opportunity to do so. I definitely don’t
regret a thing about this experience.
The 2016 NAF Internship Program has given me the opportunity to dive into the
world of professionalism. I have gained so much more experience in my field of
passion and I couldn’t be more grateful. I was fortunate enough to work with an
outstanding team of individuals who’s passion for animals complemented mine.
Not only has this experience helped me network with leaders in the agricultural
industry, but it has also given me a sense of independence I will keep for the rest
of my life.
I will like to give a special thanks
to my Instructional and Internship
Supervisors, Dr. Anim, and Jeniffer
Solano for guiding me through my
internship experience. I will also
like to thank my academy advisor,
Mr. Miller, for recommending me
for the internship, and advising me
to seek placement in an animal
clinic. And last but not least, Dr.
Cameau, and Noguerra, as well as
the pet owners and animals that
trusted my skills and care.
