Outline Instructions Here is the template that should help and save you some time. I also added the two outline examples I handed out in class. FOLLOW THESE RULES PLEASE : Keep all the labels in your outline (e.g. Attention Getter, Reason to Listen, Speaker Credibility, 1st Main Point, etc.). When typing next to the labels, make sure to switch away from bold text, and of course, you will need to move the subordination marks in the BODY to correspond to your own unique content. Think about three - four pages or so and two or three main points with content double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font. Print up two outlines to be safe as you will need one for yourself to hold on to. Some important rules here: (1) EVERYTHING is written in complete sentences (2) Single sentences per point in the BODY {This rule can be broken in the INTRODUCTION and CONCLUSION} (3) Do not allow your text to drag back; keep it lined up under your subordination marks in the BODY.
