                      Introduction
    Title       This Webquest is designed for a Third Grade Science
 Introduction
                curriculum. The class will be divided into four separate
                groups, with each group representing one season (either
     Task
                spring, summer, fall or winter.)
   Process
  Evaluation    Have you ever tried going sledding when there is no snow
  Conclusion
                on the ground? Or have you ever tried swimming when it is
                cold outside? These activities are not very fun if the
                weather is not right! There are activities and clothing for
                every season, and in this unit we will be exploring what
                those are.

                               The Task
    Title
 Introduction   You will be split into four groups. Each group will be
    Task        assigned a season (spring, summer, fall/autumn, or winter).
                Your group will then discuss the season with one another

                and with family members. You will each color a picture on a

  Conclusion    board all about their season, and present it in front of the
                class.

                1. Your class will be split into four groups.
    Title

                3. In your group, talk about what the weather is like in your season.
  Evaluation       Write a team summary, answering these questions to the best of
  Conclusion       your ability: It is cold, warm, or a mixture of both? What kind of
                   clothing do you wear? What activities can you do? What sports do
                   you play?

                4. When you go home, talk to your family members and friends
                   about your season. Ask them the same questions your group
                   answered. Are the answers the same? Write down any differences
                   and bring your notes to school.

                5. Your group will be using a computer during class. Your teacher will
                   help you go to this website:

                6. Once on this website, click on your season. Click on a coloring
                   picture. Use the “drag + drop” arrows to add several items to
    Title          your picture, and a variety of colors to paint it. When you are
 Introduction      finished, ask your teacher to print it.
     Task
                7. Next, your teacher will give your group a poster board. Gather
   Process         the group summary, all notes from home, and everyone’s

                   decorations as well, example-flowers for spring.

                8. On the back of your poster board, write out items that can be
                   seen during your season, example-pumpkins in the fall/autumn.

                9. For the next day of school, bring an item that can be found in
                   your season. For example, a scarf for winter.

                10. Present your season in front of your class, with your poster
                    board hanging at the front. Each person in your group will
                    show and talk about the item they brought. Each person will
                    talk about something new that they learned about their season.
