The Beginning The internet had been in place since the late 1960’s It was used for US military reasons It was later used by academia in Universities It was created by a man named Tim Berners-Lee
Why was the interne developed? It was made to correspond to people in other laboratories around the world. Later on in the years, it was used to look up info. Now the world wide web can be used for just about anything, paying bills, learning, playing games, etc.
1 st Generation In 1993 the National Centre for Supercomputing developed the first freeware browser β€œMosaic” It was capable of viewing text and graphics Very slow modem connections
2 nd Generation Icons replacing words Tiled images for backgrounds Buttons with bevelled edges Banners replacing headlines
3 rd Generation The third generation of web design is all about interactive graphics, sound, animation, and 3D images.
4 th Generation The forth generation is only an extension of the third. The only difference is it has some unique web-driven selling proposition
Then and Now The new browsers now give the designers the control that they didn’t have 6 years ago. Even small and big businesses use websites to help them grow, that right there should tell you how far web design and the internet as come.
My Info Spot First, I Google β€œThe History of Web Design”. Then I hit the third link, read it, and done.
