Gustave Caillebotte was a French painter born in 1848 who first studied art by attending Leon Bonnat's studio. His first studio was in his parents' home. When his father passed away in 1874, Caillebotte inherited money. He showed his first piece "Floor-scrapers" in the 1876 Impressionism exhibition, demonstrating a realistic style inspired by Impressionism. Caillebotte painted many scenes of family members and standard subjects.
The document provides an essay about winter and sunny weather systems. It discusses how weather affects everyday life, with sunny weather bringing harmony and dreary weather sometimes causing tragedy. It mentions the 1998 El Nino event and severe weather. The essay aims to discuss different weather systems in a scientific way, determining what is known and still needs to be learned. It focuses on comparing winter and summer weather systems and conditions.
The document summarizes the differences between weather and climate. Weather refers to short-term atmospheric conditions over days or weeks in a particular region, while climate describes average weather patterns over 30 years. Weather involves factors like temperature, precipitation and wind, while climate represents synthesized weather statistics. Climate is measured based on long-term weather data to identify patterns, whereas weather forecasts are for shorter periods and can be more accurate. Human activities like industry and agriculture can inadvertently modify weather, and long-term changes to climate pose serious threats.
The document describes the experience of walking in the rain and how different people can perceive rain differently. It summarizes that some may find the cool rain refreshing while others associate rain with sadness and depression. Seasonal affective disorder rates rise in darker, wetter seasons. While some see light rain as happy, others see heavy rainstorms as frightening due to thunder, lightning and intensified rain. The gray, murky sky during rainstorms can also contribute to sad moods.
This document is a lesson plan for teaching primary school children in Hong Kong about different types of weather. It includes descriptions of sunny, windy, rainy, foggy, stormy, and typhoon weather. It suggests activities like acting out weather charades and reading a story about different weather each day of the week. It also includes songs about rain and discusses what to wear in different weather conditions.

Brent Staples analyzes racial inequalities and misconceptions that still exist in American society today. Slavery poisoned the minds of white Americans to view black men as inferior, and this ideology has been passed down through generations. However, there have been many attempts to overcome this problem and promote the realization that all people are similar, through figures like Frederick Douglass and Brent Staples himself who worked to earn equality. Staples uses his own experiences of being discriminated against as a large black man to show how racism still impacts people's lives and behaviors.

1. Storm Descriptive Essay
Calm After the Storm
Life washes over those who expect it the least. It seeps into the expanse of space and time and steals
the innocence from the young. When I was seven I was playing with time, innocent and vulnerable.
Then life came crashing in and destroyed everything. With water–soaked clothes and tear–streaked
cheeks, I returned home with the knowledge that life has no mercy. Life is not fair. Only the salty
sting of reality to my beaten ego was my companion.
Magnificent, heavenly light filters through the wispy clouds, signifying a new day. The thin clouds
slowly drift apart, presenting a beautiful sky beneath. Speaking out to me, the sky seems to know
every one of my thoughts, my dreams, my darkest fears. The sky is but a canvas of light, creating
a new picture within seconds. Weaving a story through the delicate clouds, the picture grows
beyond the expanse of sky. The colors splay before me, beautiful and simple. Pink hues morph into
vibrant purples as they blend with the beautiful blues. The glittering stretch of sea shines before my
eyes. With every new wave, the light from above whispers promises of riches and sparkling
diamonds. The swift breeze that kisses the sea sends the twinkling light back into the air above.
The ocean strokes land with calm and reassuring hands, lacing water with sand and lifting
seashells in its wake. My heart urges me forward, to walk among the peace, to capture the sweet
smell of sea salt. My brain reasons with the rest of my body. Turning sharply from the lulling water,
I force my feet to leave the warm imprint they have grown to love among the sand. One foot after
the other, I force myself away from the calm and into the storm.
Just ahead, the shingles of my little house come into view. The roof is worn from years of wind
and rain, and the paint is now chipping and old. Harboring memories my brain cannot contain, that
house signifies my love for life. It signifies the love for my family, and the laughter they bring. That
house is my beacon of hope in the stormy weather that is my life. My pace quickens as the air
pushes past me, shoving me aside. Once forgotten waves, now lap at my feet. They call out to me,
their pleas for attention becoming urgent. I turn

2. Weather Informative Speech
Introduction: Now why would you want to predict the weather without a forecast or technology?
I know smartphones are a thing and everyone has a phone to look at what the weather would be.
So why listen to what I am going to demonstrate for you today? Well, let me give you a scenario.
Let's say you were on a trip to Malaysia with your tour group, but as you ventured further into the
forest you got lost and didn't know where you landed up or how far from the next town you were?
Your phone didn't work due to the lack of cellular service, now how are you going to survive in
Mother Nature? This speech is going to allow you to gain knowledge if you ever land up in such a
situation, which you will because we are college students that cannot always afford our phone bills.
I.For all of you cat owners, did you know that your cat can help you predict when a storm is coming?
When a cat licks its paws, it usually swipes their whiskers or face but avoids their ears. The
moment that a cat swipes their ears, that is when a storm is on its way. The reason why they feel
the need to swipe their ears is because when a storm is on its way, the pressure in the air decreases.
Say if you're in a jungle in the depths of Africa, how would you predict the temperature? Did you
realize that pine cones shut everything down in moistness increments so as to shield their seeds from
the approaching tempests?
A.In the event that smoke goes straight up into the air, the climate ought to be clear. In the event that
smoke twirls close to the ground, rain is coming around. If there is a chance that you see that frogs
around you start to have louder croaks, you might need to get an umbrella since there might be a
storm on its way. The shading close to the breastbone of a goose will disclose to you what sort of
winter to anticipate. If the feathers are darker, that implies a terrible winter is ahead. At the point
when a storm is coming, cows group together. They'll likewise hide to keep dry and secured or they
huddle together in a group and keep low in the grass fields.
1.Aside from all this useful knowledge, it is clear to see animal behavior have a big effect on us
predicting the weather.
2.If you count however many times a cricket chirps for

3. Weathering and Erosion
bub
Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given time and place, with respect to variables such as
temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure. Weather can be classified as day to
day temperature and precipitation activity, where climiate is average atmospheric conditions over
longer periods of time. Weather occurs from temperature and moisture differences between one place
and another. These differences can occur due to thesun angle at any particular spot. The strong
temperature contrast between polar and tropical air gives rise to the jet stream. Weather systems in
the mid–latitudes, such as "extratropical cyclones", are caused by instabilities of the jet stream flow.
Because the Earth's axis is tilted...show more content...
Higher altitudes are cooler than lower altitudes, which is explained by the lapse rate. On local
scales, temperature differences can occur because different surfaces (such as oceans, forests, ice
sheets, or man–made objects) have differing physical characteristics such as reflectivity, roughness,
or moisture content.
Surface temperature differences in turn cause pressure differences. A hot surface heats the air
above it and the air expands, lowering the air pressure and its density. The resulting horizontal
pressure gradient accelerates the air from high to low pressure, creating wind, and Earth's rotation
then causes curvature of the flow via the Coriolis effect. The simple systems thus formed can then
display emergent behaviour to produce more complex systems and thus other weather phenomena.
Large scale examples include the Hadley cell while a smaller scale example would be coastal breezes.
The atmosphere is a chaotic system, so small changes to one part of the system can grow to have
large effects on the system as a whole. This makes it difficult to accurately predict weather more than
a few days in advance, though weather forecasters are continually working to extend this limit
through the scientific study of weather, meteorology. It is theoretically impossible to make useful
day–to–day predictions more than about two weeks ahead, imposing an upper limit to potential for
improved prediction skill.

4. Descriptive Essay On Weather
The winds outside howled as I played a board game with a friend at school. The rain battered the
windows of the cafeteria, and I assumed that this was just an ordinary storm. Well, I was wrong. My
thoughts about the weather would be forever altered, and I found out just how stunningly frightening
severe weather can be.
It was just another ordinary day of 5th grade. It was cloudy outside, and we had heard about the
severe weather that might come on the news. We just shooed the precautions away and forgot about
it. That is, until it started storming. Bad idea. I was at my before school program, JCPRD. I sat with
Anna, my best friend, peering out of the large, blue–tinted windows at the enraged clouds outside.
They gushed rain and radiated lightning, illuminating our nervous faces. We were starting to get
concerned. The distant, eerie roars of thunder filled our ears as the sheets of rain spilled from the
roof and lashed the building. This seemed bad, but the situation only grew worse. My heart started
to thud faster and louder as I walked to my classroom. The winds were whooshing louder and
louder, and the thunder was growing more and more rapid.
"Good morning class," My teacher, Mr. Whalen, said as we all walked in. "Today a severe weather
threat has been issued, so be ready if we have to go to a tornado shelter room."
The only reason I liked tornado drills was that we sometimes got to go in the teacher lounge. Other
times, we had to go into the bathroom, which I hated. I

5. Weather Descriptive Essay
First Draft Weather has a way of making people feel a certain way, by affecting their mood.
Bright and sunny weather tends to make people happier, while dull and dreary weather brings
about less appealing emotions, such as grumpiness, sadness, or fear. Tornado weather, especially in
tornado alley, is a source of emotion. For many people living in tornado alley, tornado season offers
a mix of fear and excitement. However, for most, when the tornado is actually present, fear tends to
take over and the excitement is lost. The tornado that occured on May 20th, 2013 was a great
example of how a tornado can turn from exhilirating to terrifying. This past tornado season, the
weather was naturally stormy, but nothing of great concern had...show more content...
Her voice shrill and incredilous, she told me that she called my boss twenty minutes before and
asked that i come home. By the time that I was told, the storm was raging. I shakily told her that i
was scared to drive since my car had been messing up, so she offered to come pick me up. When
she got there, I ran outside and jumped in the car, slamming the door shut behind me, but I
realized that i had forgotten my purse. Trying to hurry, i ran back inside like an olympic sprinter
and got it. On the drive back home, the storm seemed to be clearing up, but soon it started to hail
and the rain was so thick that we couldnt see the road. Finally, we made it home and got inside. By
that time, the storm had gone around us, so we began to relax. We turned on the news and stared
in awe at the devestation that had befallen Moore. As we all sat there taking in the sight, a shrill
ring filled the air. My aunt answered her phone to find that it was her son, Derek, who was in the
Army. He had been called to help in the clean up of the wreckage. She cried and wished him good
luck. She knew that what he saw would be life changing. This just shows how weather can affect
people's moods. At first the storm seemed exciting; getting to leave work and school early sounded
like a good thing. However, throughout the day, little things happened that made it no longer be so
exciting. And eventually, that excitement was gone and it was replaced by
