Introduction to Joe Henry
• He was a university graduate in the school of public health.
• He was motivated by the fact that 25k people die each day due to
starvation
• He ran 500 miles to raise awareness about the people suffering from
hunger each day.
Objectives
• Raise awareness about world hunger
• Raise $100,000 to fight world hunger
• The $100,000 could feed 25000 school children one meal. Though
insignificant to many, people will be inspired by his acts of generosity.
How did he do it?
• Joe Henry was a vegetarian before. He had to change his diet so that
he could cope with running 30 miles per day.
• Joe undergone vigorous training in the ice cold mountains in the
winter to prepare for running 500 miles
• Joe was supported by many of his friends and family members
Conclusion
• Joe’s acts were, in some people’s eyes, ‘crazy’. However, Joe still
insists on running 500 miles. He used his strength and endurance to
inspire people to give and to raise awareness on global hunger.
Although the short term effect seems insignificant, the long term
effect will last for a lifetime.
