Glen H. Applegate, age 72, died on April 13, 2011 at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in 1939 in Indiana and graduated from Sunset School of Preaching in 1972. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and step-grandchildren. His funeral will be held on April 18, 2011.

5. Glen H. Applegate, age 72, of Pekin died Wednesday April 13, 2011 at 3:01 a.m. at University of Louisville Hospital. Born March 15, 1939 in Harrisontown, Ind., he was the son of Raymond and Ruth Nicholson Applegate. Glen attended Salem and Pekin schools. He was a graduate of Sunset School of Preaching in 1972 and preached at many churches in the area. He was a builder and a farmer and was a member of Douglas Church of Christ. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and started the South Boston Oprey. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child, and an infant brother. On August 28, 1958, he married Patricia Beasley, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter: Marijane (Randy) Crofford, of Henryville; two sons, Scott (Kim) Applegate of Pekin and Jim (Ann) Applegate of Palmyra; one brother, Lindall (Karen) Applegate of New Castle Penn., five sisters, Jean Kay, Doris Tyler, and Mary (Eugene) Miller of Salem, June (Lowell) Gray of Pekin, and Norma (Stuart) Collins of Sellersburg; eight grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and two step-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
