New DDC W500 series
INNOVATION and TRADITION
 With the new W500 line we aim to replace
the existing W Analog series, maintaining
the modularity philosophy and implementing
the overall features. All in a new DDC
hardware.
 Additional features such as flexible DIN rail
mounting and RS485 /ModBus connection
to a supervisory system, have been
implemeted.
 Modularity is a strenght that we want to
provide again to our customers thus allowing
them to integrate more devices into a flexible
structure where both air and water are to be
controlled.

New DDC W500 series
W500T: P or P+I Temperature Controller
The new temperature controller consists of:
 3digit ½ display (with sign and comma)
 Flashing leds
 Diaphragm keys
 Standard ISO – DIN rail mounting
• Power Supply : 230 Vac
• Input : 3 Analogue and 2 Digital
• Output : 2 Analogue and 2 Digital
• Models available :
 BASIC VERSION
 EXTENDED VERSION including Real Time Clock and
RS485 / ModBus
• W500T controller for temperature is the first to be
released: it includes all the application available with the
existing WT, WM, WI, WS, WF controllers.

New W500 series: Functionality
Models:
 W500T = BASIC VERSION (hardware for temperature control)
 W500TMB = EXTENDED VERSION: includes Real Time Clock and RS485 / ModBus
connection
Real Time Clock (“RTC”):
 2 daily programs and weekly program. It includes 3 functioning modes:
– ON (NM)
– OFF/Antifrost (FA)
– Reduced (RF).
Internal communication bus (LinkBus):
 Built-in internal communication bus (provided with all models) permits to share sensors and
parameters between controllers. It’s called “Link” and allows the installer to save on
sensors (e.g. only one outside compensation sensor for 4 controllers);
 In case you wish to connect more controllers together (up to 4 controllers with internal
LinkBus) only one needs to be with Real Time Clock;
 All sensors are PTC type.
External communication Bus:
 Model W500TMB is equipped with RS485 for a connection to a Supervisory through
ModBus protocol. In case more controllers are connected with internal LinkBus, only one
needs to be provided with RS485 / ModBus.

Using a new W500 controller it’s the
equivalent of having 4 different
controllers - 2 with modulating output
and 2 with ON/OFF output –
indipendent from eachother.
Each sensor (SR, SL, SC) will work with
any of the four setting parameters.
Digital Inputs (DI1, DI2) can be used for
various functions, depending on the
functioning mode that has been
selected.
SR = Regulation Sensor; SL = Limit Sensor; SC = Compensation Sensor
DI = Digital Input; DO = Digital Output; AO = Analogue Output

New DDC W500 series: Inputs
INPUTS
 3 Analog Inputs for PTC type sensors
– Control sensor input, -50°..150°C (SR)
– Limit sensor input, -50°..150°C (SL)
– Compensation sensor input or remote set, -50°..150°C (SC)
 If limit and compensation sensors are not connected, their functions will be
automatically disabled and will not be displayed on LCD (but they can be
shared through LinkBus)
 Digital inputs are volt free contacts. Settings available: Stop Antifrost ,
Power on / Power off, Summer/Winter, etc.
 When more controllers are connected through LinkBus, sensors can be set
via display (menu)
 remote set-point control can be obtained by means of a RM potentiometer
connected instead of the Compensation Sensor

OUTPUT
 The 2 Analogue Outputs are 0 –10 Vdc type; Max output current is 10mA.
 Analogue output has 4 possible functions
– Heat ( 0..10Vcc)
– Cool (0..10Vcc)
– Heat/Cool with Summer / Winter change over
– Heat/Cool in sequence (1-5Vcc and 6–9Vcc)
 The 2 Digital Output are line Relays 250V 3(8)A:
– Could be used at the same time of Analogue control depending on customer’s
needs such as: Pump or Fan activation, Dampers, “On/Off” programmable
strategies
– they will use the same sensors of analogue loops
– An alternative on-off action can be activated according to available digital input
status (when properly set)
 Possibility to disable functions I and use W500T only as P

  • 1. CONTROLLI W500T - New DDC Temperature Controller -
  • 2. 2 New DDC W500 series INNOVATION and TRADITION  With the new W500 line we aim to replace the existing W Analog series, maintaining the modularity philosophy and implementing the overall features. All in a new DDC hardware.  Additional features such as flexible DIN rail mounting and RS485 /ModBus connection to a supervisory system, have been implemeted.  Modularity is a strenght that we want to provide again to our customers thus allowing them to integrate more devices into a flexible structure where both air and water are to be controlled.
  • 3. 3 New DDC W500 series W500T: P or P+I Temperature Controller The new temperature controller consists of:  3digit ½ display (with sign and comma)  Flashing leds  Diaphragm keys  Standard ISO – DIN rail mounting • Power Supply : 230 Vac • Input : 3 Analogue and 2 Digital • Output : 2 Analogue and 2 Digital • Models available :  BASIC VERSION  EXTENDED VERSION including Real Time Clock and RS485 / ModBus • W500T controller for temperature is the first to be released: it includes all the application available with the existing WT, WM, WI, WS, WF controllers.

  • 5. 5 New W500 series: Functionality Models:  W500T = BASIC VERSION (hardware for temperature control)  W500TMB = EXTENDED VERSION: includes Real Time Clock and RS485 / ModBus connection Real Time Clock (“RTC”):  2 daily programs and weekly program. It includes 3 functioning modes: – ON (NM) – OFF/Antifrost (FA) – Reduced (RF). Internal communication bus (LinkBus):  Built-in internal communication bus (provided with all models) permits to share sensors and parameters between controllers. It’s called “Link” and allows the installer to save on sensors (e.g. only one outside compensation sensor for 4 controllers);  In case you wish to connect more controllers together (up to 4 controllers with internal LinkBus) only one needs to be with Real Time Clock;  All sensors are PTC type. External communication Bus:  Model W500TMB is equipped with RS485 for a connection to a Supervisory through ModBus protocol. In case more controllers are connected with internal LinkBus, only one needs to be provided with RS485 / ModBus.
  • 6. 6 W500: Internal structure SR SL SC DI1 DI2 AO1 AO2 DO1 DO2 Analogue LOOP 1 Analogue LOOP 2 On/Off LOOP 1 On/Off LOOP 2 Using a new W500 controller it’s the equivalent of having 4 different controllers - 2 with modulating output and 2 with ON/OFF output – indipendent from eachother. Each sensor (SR, SL, SC) will work with any of the four setting parameters. Digital Inputs (DI1, DI2) can be used for various functions, depending on the functioning mode that has been selected. SR = Regulation Sensor; SL = Limit Sensor; SC = Compensation Sensor DI = Digital Input; DO = Digital Output; AO = Analogue Output 4 loops available !
  • 7. 7 New DDC W500 series: Inputs INPUTS  3 Analog Inputs for PTC type sensors – Control sensor input, -50°..150°C (SR) – Limit sensor input, -50°..150°C (SL) – Compensation sensor input or remote set, -50°..150°C (SC)  If limit and compensation sensors are not connected, their functions will be automatically disabled and will not be displayed on LCD (but they can be shared through LinkBus)  Digital inputs are volt free contacts. Settings available: Stop Antifrost , Power on / Power off, Summer/Winter, etc.  When more controllers are connected through LinkBus, sensors can be set via display (menu)  remote set-point control can be obtained by means of a RM potentiometer connected instead of the Compensation Sensor
  • 8. 8 New DDC W500 series : Output OUTPUT  The 2 Analogue Outputs are 0 –10 Vdc type; Max output current is 10mA.  Analogue output has 4 possible functions – Heat ( 0..10Vcc) – Cool (0..10Vcc) – Heat/Cool with Summer / Winter change over – Heat/Cool in sequence (1-5Vcc and 6–9Vcc)  The 2 Digital Output are line Relays 250V 3(8)A: – Could be used at the same time of Analogue control depending on customer’s needs such as: Pump or Fan activation, Dampers, “On/Off” programmable strategies – they will use the same sensors of analogue loops – An alternative on-off action can be activated according to available digital input status (when properly set)  Possibility to disable functions I and use W500T only as P
