Where did we eornefrom, and how
did we get here? ... Founded in 1948 as
a small agricultural equipment retailer,
Valley Truck and Tractor Company was
initially an International Harvester
dealership. The company's original
owners, George Willard Miller, George
Willard Miller, Jr., and Henry Miller, Sr.,
strived to respond to the rapidly expanding
needs of the agriculture industry. With the
aid of its 16 employees, the corporation
was able to achieve its ambitious goals and
earn a first year gross sales of $450,000.
Today, almost 60 years after first entering
the business world. Valley Truck and
Tractor has matured into a distinguished
agricultural, commercial, and consumer
products business.
In i960, the company outgrew its original
Marysville location and moved its
headquarters to its present day location in
Yuba City. Here, it maintained its
performance as an International Harvester
Dealership for another 25 years. In the

summer of 1985 Valley Truck and Tractor
continued its advancement in the
agricultural products industry as it
exchanged its red International sign for a
green and yellow logo and became a John
Deere dealership. During that same time,
the company opened another set of doors
to the public, as its second store began
business in the small city of Robbins.
Today, Valley Truck and Tractor continues
to operate under the direction of members
of the original founding Miller family. In
addition to its Yuba City and Robbins
locations, it now encompasses stores in the
California cities of Woodland, Dixon, and
Elk Grove. It employs 103 men and women
with annual gross sales of over $30
million.
