PARTS/SERVICE ASSISTANT
Job Title: Parts/Service Assistant
Department: Parts/Service
Reports To: Parts Manager/Service Manager
Supervises: Service Technicians, DeliverDriverandSet-up andPre-Delivery Inspection Technicians.
Job Functions:
Assigns andprovides workdirection to employees in the Service Department, advises and
recommends changesand improvements regarding ServiceDepartment processesto the Service
Manager, andassists in the processing of repair work. Mayact as Service Manager in Service
Manager's absence. Orders parts upon request from servicetechnicians and customers as
needed.
Essential Duties:
1. Assignsjobs and workareasto employees accordingto their skillsand knowledge

the Service Manager (may fill the Service Manager's role in their absence).
Advises Service Manager ofall customer or technician complaints.
Reviewsdepartmentperformanceand personnelmatters with ServiceManager / Parts Manageron a
regular basis.
5. Submitsall servicewarrantyand Product ImprovementProgram claims withinthe required time frame to
receive maximum credit.
6. Sells products and/or services to meet customer needs.
7. Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required.
8. Verifies receipting-in of shipments and assistswith placingMachine Downand StockOrdersin their
proper inventory locations.
9. Maintain housekeeping throughout department and faculties.
10. Perform any and all other requests deemed necessarythat will promote and grow the
business for the firm.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Abilityto speakeffectivelyone-on-one and beforegroupsofcustomers or employees of the organization.
• Abilityto use standarddesktop load applicationssuch as Microsoft Office and Internetfunctions.
• Familiar with John Deere and Competitive products.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previoussupervisoryor managementexperiencepreferredbut not required.
• At leastone year of experience in Parts Department and ServiceDepartment operations preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
