Christmas Card Group Project
Myself and other Gateway members got
involved in a group project to make a
Christmas Card for Chris Andrews
(T.D).
Instead of drawing and painting, we
assembled a 3D model with 2 cabins,
snowmen, a Santa and Reindeer. We
created snow with cotton wool and put it
on the ground and on the roofs for effect.
We made this in the art and crafts class
with Tim. To finish it off, Tim put blue
paper in the background as a skyscape,
plus cotton wool for a cloud.
We took a series of photographs of the
completed piece and these were sent to
the office of Chris Andrews.
It was a fun project.
Patricia.
Recently a gang of Gateway People
visited The Wax Museum Plus, The
Armoury, Foster Place, Temple Bar,
Dublin 2. Tel:(01)6718373. We met
in Starbucks Café at 11.30am and
headed in to the museum at 12noon.
There were 10 people on the day.
The content of the venue included
waxworks of famous musicians, film
stars, a horror room (graphic) and a
science space to name just a few.
Most of the waxworks were great, the
science room interactive and the
horror room not for the faint-hearted.
The only drawback was that the
display spaces were too small which
created discomfort.
When we finished our tour, we had a
snack in a coffee shop.
Thanks to all those who attended on
the day!
A woman wanted to give her
husband, John, a birthday treat. She
brought him to a strip club. As they
walked in the door, the doorman
doffed his hat. The woman was
startled-”Does he know you?”, she
asked. ”Oh, he’s in my bowling club”,
said the husband.
Next thing a girl slid down a pole and
greeted the husband by name!
The wife was incensed!!
Later on the way home in a taxi the
wife is berating the husband when the
taxi driver says, “That’s one angry
woman you got with you tonight
John!!” Michael.
A big thank you to Dennis for his
excellent work on our leaflet which will
be coming your way very soon.
