– With the virtualization and cloud computing industry growing at a rapid pace, it's important to stay up-to-
date on new and emerging technologies. VMware's vExperience Center gives Faculty/Students
exclusive access to all VMware tools needed to stay in the game and take your career to the next level,
all in one place
• Outcome
– Train and Qualify faculties for VMware Academy Accredited Instructor program
– Qualify minimum 100 unique students for VMware Digital Badge program thru participation, attendance
or evaluation in VMware Academy activities
– Maximize participation at the Annual VMware Academy Conclave – Paper Presentation, Hackathon,
Poster, Annual Project, App Challenge and others

Set-up Guide
• Technical requirements:
– Minimum 30 client Machines
• Dual Core CPU
• RAM - 8GB
• Storage - Min 500GB, recommended 1TB
• NIC - 1GbE
• OS Windows 2008
– Minimum 1 server (recommended 2)
• 6 Core CPU
• RAM - Min 32 GB, 64GB recommended
• Storage - 1 SSD, 2 HDD(1.2 TB NL-SAS, 7.2k RPM)
• NIC - 1GbE(10GbE recommended)
• OS - Windows 2008 R2 or Windows 2012
– Conference room seating to accommodate 60 students in a ratio of 2:1 with the desktop
– One dedicated table for the instructor with LAN connection and a dedicated projector.
– White board with marker pens.

• Software Subscription :
– Procure 3 years license to VMware Academy Store via
https://vmapss.onthehub.com/WebStore/Welcome.aspx ( $ 700 for 3 years )
• The licenses available are 365-day evaluation licenses for academic use in a non-production environment that
require a one-time, annual download.
• Annual product downloads ensure that Subscribers receive the most up-to-date versions of products.
• Any number of students from the schools can sign up for the access.
– Included products are
• VMware vCenter Server Standard for vSphere 6
• VMware vSphere® with Operations Management™ Enterprise Plus
• VMware vCloud Suite® Standard
• VMware vRealize Orchestrator
• VMware vRealize Operations™
• VMware vRealize Log Insight™
• VMware vRealize Operations for Horizon®
• And others

Set-up Guide
• Room layout:
– All four walls to be whitewashed/painted in white color.
– All windows to be covered with vertical blinds/blue colored drapes.
– Student seating to be in conference seating style only.
– Air conditioning with false ceiling.
– Entrance door to be made of glass or of 50% glass.
– The Centre should be a minimum of 1500 sq. ft. in area.
– One soft board /notice board outside the entrance dedicated to the Centre.
– Name board to appear on the right hand side of the door.

– Entrance door should have the VMware vExperience Center branding in the
specified font, color and size.
– Eight VMware posters to be displayed in a ratio of 1:1 on both sides of the room in the specified format
within frames.
– All poster creatives (soft copy) to be decided and supplied by VMware.

– Faculty Leaders – 2
– Student Ambassador – 1
– Core technical student team – 3
– Members – 100 +

• VMware Student Ambassador & Faculty
advisor shall lead & setup VMware Academy
Club at the school
• The club should have a minimum of 100
members with 3 student Tech Champ’s ( to
be trained by VMware )
• Each club should be subscribed to VMware
Academy Store by paying the $250 yearly
membership fee ( if not purchased during
sign up or with vExperience Center )
• Take lead and engage the community to
participate in VMware Academy events like
webinars, summit and contests
