Ces dernières imposent que les objets étudiés soient formalisés en variables, et donc que l’on puisse « mesurer » de tels objets. La première question discutée dans ce séminaire renvoie à la « mesure ». À partir de l’ontologie particulière des objets étudiés en SHS, une discussion est menée sur le cadre formel permettant de considérer qu’un objet en SHS à une propriété mesurable. De là, la confusion sémantique (objet/concept/variable) et la confusion sur « l’objectivité » de la modélisation statistique est posée.
