Students choosing visual arts will have opportunities to visit art galleries and studios, attend workshops, and go on an excursion to Sydney to see various art museums and the studio of Brett Whiteley. During their preliminary course, students will complete exercises to develop ideas for their year 12 body of work, which is worth 50% of their HSC mark and can include mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, and graphic design. Their other 50% comes from a written exam testing their knowledge of artists and conceptual frameworks.
