Prof. Maja Boczkowska elaborated about seed
processing.

Dr. Jaroslaw przetakiewicz explained about the diseases
of potato and the pathotypes related to them. The main
diseases in potato were wart and tumor.

-Slawomir Siwa PhD
Dr. Slawomir Siwa introduced us about the genetic
modification in maize.
Maize based cropping systems (MBCSs), with different shares of
maize crop in the rotations, are dominant in European union. The
pesticide load is different in types of active ingredients and target
organisms depending on the region. Mycotoxins potentially
produced by phytopa-thogenic fungi have serious food and feed
safety implications. New challenges (availability of resources,
economic aspects, knowledge and training, etc.) should also be
considered when im-plementing Integrated Pest Management
(IPM).
