2. Brief Description about Visha
“देहं प्रविश्य यद् दृव्यं दू षवयत्वा रसावदकान्।
स्वास्थ्यप्राणहरं च स्यात् तद् दृव्यं विषमुच्यते।।”
Substance that enters into the body and causes vitiation of healthy dhatus and
eventually the healthy body is termed as Visha.
Synonyms
Shweda, Garala, Gara, Kalakalpa, Bhugara, etc.
3. VISHA SAMPRAPTI
“विषं वह देहं सम्प्राप्य प्राग्दू षयवत शोवणतम्।
कफवित्तावनलांश्चानु समदोष सहाशयान।
ततो ह्रदयमास्थाय देहोच्छेदाय कल्पते।। ”
(Ash. San. 40/8)
After visha enters into the body, first of all it vitiates the Rakta (blood) dhatu
and then by vitiating Tridosa & Ashaya enters into the Hrdaya (heart).
After it enters the hrdaya, it causes for one’s death.

9. 1. Sthavara visha: Poison that comes from minerals or
poisonous herbs. Also can be called as inanimate poison.
2. Jangama visha: Poison that originates from animals.
3. Gara visha: Toxic combination of substances, poisonous
or non-poisonous, which exerts toxic effect after
interval of sometime and as such does not kill the person
instantly.
4. Dushi visha: Called so as it gets aggravated by direct
breeze, using uncooked foods, day sleep, etc. and then
vitiated the dhatus.
