Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) is a private university in the Philippines celebrating its 50th anniversary. It was founded in 1951 by Dr. Martin P. Posadas and Dr. Rosalina Quebral Posadas as a medical and dental clinic, and has since expanded to offer programs across various fields. Over the decades, VMUF has continued to grow its campus facilities and academic programs, and now aims to enhance its services and meet the challenges of a changing world by teaching students not only skills but also how to live and contribute to society.

General Information VMUF is a privately-supported coeducational institution offering courses in the medical and paramedical fields, in liberal and applied arts, sciences, technical-vocational courses, secondary, elementary and pre-school courses. VMUF has been concerned with educating young men and women in skills, concepts and values that lead to success in life, while helping them prepare for worthwhile service to GOD and humanity. The curriculum and activities of VMUF are geared toward helping each student achieve his or her God-given potential. VMUF strives to develop every facet of one’s being mentally, physically, emotionally, psychologically and most important, spiritually.

4. University History FOUNDERS: Dr. Martin P. Posadas- graduated from University of Santo Tomas College of Medicine in 1949 Dr. Rosalina Quebral ~Posadas - graduated from Centro Escolar University College of Dentistry February 14, 1951 The POSADAS MEDICO-DENTAL CLINIC was established and renamed Virgen Milagrosa Hospital in 1957.

7. University History 1969 – VMUF Complex started in in a 12-hectare site at Taloy District, San Carlos. It was blessed and inaugurated in 1972. – DZAR 1530 kHz Palaris Broadcasting Co., first radio station in San Carlos. February 16, 1974 – VIRGEN MILAGROSA MEDICAL CENTER was blessed and inaugurated. It was a 100-bed capacity with ICU, CCU, and complete laboratory facilities. May 1975 , the VM Institute of Medicine Building was blessed and inaugurated. The first year classes in Medicine started in consortium with a medical college in Dagupan. June of 1976 , VIRGEN MILAGROSA EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION (VMEI) INC. was established.

8. University History 1980 - The VM Child Learning Center (CLC) was established with Nursery and Kindergarten classes. February 14, 1987 - the 5-storey VM Centrum was inaugurated. 1987- the permit to operate was given to Special Science High School January 5, 1994 -VMEI became VIRGEN MILAGROSA UNIVERSITY with Dr. Martin P. Posadas as the 1 st President in March 12, 1994 . July 6, 1994 - our Dear Dr. Martin P. Posadas passed away. Dr. Rosalina Posadas became the 2 nd President of the University. The University hosted the Palarong Pambansa ’95 for Secondary Level in 1995 . October 19, 1996 when Dra. Rosalina Posadas passed away.

9. U n i v e r s i t y H i s t o r y March 12, 1997 – Dr. Ma. Lilia P. Juan, the 3 rd President of VMUF. DECEMBER 13, 2004 – Dr. Ma. Lilia P. Juan received an award from PACU-COA as one of the TOP TEN Institutions with the most number of accredited programs (Category A). 2004 – was the date of completion and consecration of the University Chapel with Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz as the Mass Celebrant. Archbishop Cruz proclaimed the institution as a Catholic University. 2005 – VMUF was ranked 3 rd in REGION I and No. 1 in Pangasinan for the past 5 years Nursing Board Performance released by CHED and PRC. JANUARY 5, 2006 – The University of Hawaii – Kapi’olani Community College has chosen VMUF to be a partner in Nursing Exchange Program.

VMUF will continue to promote a way of life – the way to give and serve others.
