VERVE is an EU-funded project that uses personalized and populated realistic virtual environments on clinical, home, and mobile platforms to help vanquish fear and apathy. It involves partners with expertise in graphics, serious games, health ICT, clinical psychology, neuroscience, and crowdsourcing. The project will develop more realistic and believable virtual environments using expertise in image-based rendering, realistic rendering, and believable agent behavior. It will evaluate the efficacy of the virtual reality intervention with existing patient groups and disseminate results through industry and hospital networks.
