Amber's week in Veda

1. Week 3
Erde

2. We’re back in Veda! With the Erdes this
time. In the back we have Noah,
Oleander and Hope, their parents, Amber
and Christian in the front. Last week they
were working on earning enough money
for their grocery store, and while they’re
close they still have a little to go.

3. Oleander was tired of digging for his
mother. There had to be a better way to
earn money. Luckily there was a job
opening the paper for a security guard.
Not his dream job, but anything was
better than digging.

4. The garden was flourishing and taking up the
majority of the day to tend.
“I can’t wait until Winter.” Oleander
commented.
“I know it’s a lot of work, Olly, but it’s keeping
everyone fed here.”
“But we don’t even need to eat, why don’t they
just grow all their own food.”

5. Oleander basked under his sunlamp. He
wondered what it was like to be human,
to need to eat or sleep. At first he
thought his half sisters as lame, but they
had much more time to enjoy life than he
did.

6. They finally had enough to purchase the
grocery store. Amber paid the $6,000 in
taxes and then called up Joyce to claim
Erde Grocery.

7. It was just a small building next to Tyler’s.

8. But it had everything the little town
needed. Amber arranged for bulk
groceries to be sent from Pine Grove.

9. She also stuffed the shelves with her own
home grown fresh food.

10. Oleander changed his mind about his
mom dragging him out to her store. What
a hunk!
“Hey there, I’ve never seen such a
gorgeous man like you doing in a tiny
town like this?” He whispered softly.
“Oh my.” Amin gasped.

11. “Mom do you see him?”
“Olly! There’s a reporter here, behave.”
Amber scolded.

12. “I love this place, I’m going to give it the
best of the best award. Definitely worth
the hike!” Caryl said excitedly.
“Really? Thank you!” Amber grinned. They
had only been open a few hours.

13. Next time Amin came around, Oleander
took a risk and planted his first kiss on
Amin’s lips.

14. The store reached rank 6 before Amber
decided to call it a day.
“Are we going to come again tomorrow?”
Oleander asked.
Amber smiled, “I don’t know yet, but
maybe you should invite Amin over.”

15. They stopped by The Witch’s Wardrobe on
the way home. While Amber was
shopping for clothes, Oleander took a look
at the potions. There was one to cure
him. On a whim he bought it. Though he
wasn’t sure if he wanted to actually drink
it.

16. Oleander wanted to bring Amin over, but
quite frankly their house was an
unfinished dump. He would have to do
something about it before he could invited
anyone over.

17. Amber gave him $5,000 to work with. Of
course he focused on his bedroom, but
the house got somewhat of a facelift.

18. There was still more he wanted to do to
his room too. But upgrading the furniture
was a start. He now had the best bed in
the house, even though he had no use for
it.

19. Oleander’s first day of work was that
evening. Maybe he’d get a big bonus to
use on his bedroom.

20. “Hey I love you.” Christian said catching
Amber in the hall.
“Oh yeah, I love you back.” She smiled,
“All the kids are gone or asleep. How
about a date?”
“Sounds like a great idea to me.”

21. Oleander didn’t get a bonus, but he did
get a small radio with his day’s wages.

22. He needed a body point to get his bonus
and a promotion. Not needing to sleep
was coming in handy.

23. Energized after their date, Amber and
Christian worked in the garden together.
Christian finally earned his gold gardening
badge.

24. Oleander and Amber went up to work for a few hours.
The store was booming, even Pine Grovers hiking
three hours to buy fresh food. But the locals were the
happiest.
“Demi’s been craving peppers, you got any?” Samuel
asked, “I hope she’s not pregnant again.”
“Well good luck, we have peppers right over here.”

25. Gretchen gave the store rank 8. Amber
decide they did enough for the day and
closed up shop.

26. Back home, Amber felt strange, she
rushed to the toilet. Throwing up stuff
from a stomach that hadn’t been used in
weeks. She must be pregnant again, that
was the only reason that made sense.

27. Her suspicions were confirmed the next
evening.
“We’re going to need a bigger house.” She
said.

28. Amber and Christian used most of the
earnings of the store to build a green
house. No more spraying bugs constantly.

29. Oleander came home with a promotion to
Patrol Officer.

30. Amber’s pregnancy progressed.
“Only one more day.” She said excitedly.
She needed to get Christian to set up the
crib again.

31. That last day flew by. Little Faye was
born late Saturday evening.
A/N: I was checking the ruleset and didn’t realize I hadn’t
pause the game. I’m just thankful no one died while I was
distracted.

32. The bright summer sun warmed
Oleander’s skin. He felt the strangest
urge. Spores poured out of his head.

33. A small child appeared out of the spores.
“Olly!” Amber gasped.
“Mom, what happened?”
“Pappa!” The girl squealed.
“I never wanted kids.” Oleander said
stopping himself from picking her up.

34. “It happens sometimes to us plantsims.” Amber
said, scooping up her granddaughter. “What are
you going to name her?”
“I don’t know, you name her.” Oleander said
walking away.
“You’ll be Lilac. Don’t worry he’ll come
around.”

35. “Momma says you’re my niece, whatever
that means.” Hope said, “Wanna sing?”
“Sing, sing song!” Lilac laughed.

36. “So, do you want to talk about it?” Noah
asked.
“No.” Oleander said shortly.

37. That night was a double birthday; both
Noah and Hope had birthdays.

38. Hope decided to pursue knowledge, and a
little bit of fortune wouldn’t hurt. She
wanted to become the Hand of Poseidon.
“I think I’ll get a new top though.” She
grimaced, pink wasn’t her color.

39. Noah grew up too, she couldn’t wait to
start her new life as an adult.

40. Oleander couldn’t risk that happening
again. He didn’t want kids, he wanted to
be free to live his life the way he wanted
to. He didn’t want to become static like
his mom and Christian. But, he couldn’t
stay the way he was now.

41. It was time to use the potion, he could
finally be human.

42. So strange to have hair, real hair, not
leaves. He didn’t know what to do with it
so he left it.

43. He left while everyone was still
celebrating. He left the girl behind, he
didn’t know anything about raising kids.
His mom would do a better job anyways.
He was ready to be on his own.

Oleander is finally becoming independent,
though at the cost of his daughter. But Lilac
is in good hands with her grandmother. We’ll
get to see more of him on the next rotation.
They were a little short on taxes this season,
only about half of what they needed. I’m
giving them a one time break since they set
up the business.
