SINGLE CHANNEL RESISTIVITY METER
for VERTICAL ELECTRICAL SOUNDINGS

Purpose
For electrical resistivity surveying of ground to provide information on geology and
groundwater to depths of up to 300 m.
Conditions and requirements
It should be portable (light), rugged and battery operated.
Equipment should be a micro-processor-controlled device, complete and sufficient to
conduct electrical resistivity surveying, and should come with manuals (in English
language). Two days of field training to be provided to equipment users..
Specifications
Functions measurement of apparent resistivity and induced polarisation (IP)
using current and potential electrodes
Display easy to read in field conditions with direct display of apparent
resistivity
Voltage,
current and
power
Minimum capabilities are: output voltage up to 350 V, output power to
100 W, current up to 1 amp
Power supply Rechargeable battery (with chargers for mains and vehicle
recharging) sufficient for full day’s (8 hours) working
Measurements To display and memory. Automatic averaging of repeat
measurements for improved accuracy, and storage of readings
(capacity of more than 1000 readings). Automatic drift and noise
reduction.
Accuracy better than ±1% measurement of apparent resistivity
Data transfer using USB or RS-232 to USB connectivity for export of data to
computer
Accessories
 10 standard electrodes
 2 reels of 350 m wire (minimum length)
 2 reels of 125 m wire (minimum length)
 12 cord clips for electrode connections
