This document provides a values exploration exercise to help individuals identify their core values. It begins with a definition of values and how they influence decision making and priorities. It then lists 150 potential values and has the individual choose the values that resonate with them. The individual is asked to group similar values and choose a label for each group. The document concludes with a glossary defining each of the 150 values.

VALUES EXPLORING EXERCISE
Your values are the things you believe are most important. Values help to determine your priorities
in life, and heavily influence decision-making. For example, a person who values wealth might
prioritize their career, while a person who values family might try to spend more time at home.
When a person's actions do not match their values (e.g. valuing family, but working a lot), they may
become discontent.
Determine your core values. From the list below, choose and write down every core value that
resonates with you. Do not overthink your selections. As you read the list, simply write down the
words that feel like a core value to you personally. If you think of a value, you possess that is not
on the list, be sure to write it down as well.

that makes sense to you, personally. Create a maximum of five groupings. If you have more than
five groupings, drop those least important. See the example below
