PROLOGUE
EMBRACING TRANSITIONS
The fifth edition of Value Stories highlights the successes
of our partner community in integrating innovative
technologies and customizing them, while at the same
time ensuring business continuity for customers in any
environment.
In this issue, the success stories demonstrate how our
partners helped a leading banking provider in the UAE to
gain easy accessibility and portability of their customers’
applications, empowered a bespoke architectural &
metalwork company to virtually explore a product before its
even built, and transformed the delivery of patient care for a
leading healthcare organization in the UAE.
The ten stories show the transformation that partner
organizations have brought about in their businesses
in terms of maximizing market opportunities across the
Middle East.
In addition to this, the impact on business strategy has
been profound. New technologies such as cloud, SaaS and
mobility are transforming the way people work.
As the digital workspace evolves in response to rapidly
evolving business needs, virtualization of desktops and
applications will play a key role in rethinking how we work
– bringing streamlined management, reduced costs, and
increased flexibility and efficiency for end-users.
Today, digital workspace has reached a turning point and
is rapidly becoming the differentiator in the marketplace.
Nonetheless, the good news is that this transition will
embrace and flourish channel partners who are armed with
an array of solutions that accelerate adoption.
As always, Redington works with its technology partners
to offer seamless integration and quicker time to value that
customers need to manage the digital risk.

ROBOENERGY BUILT ON MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 PLATFORM, WAS THE MOST COMPATIBLE

G
P Global is majorly into commodity
trading, manufacturing, refinery and
terminals. They are also into oil and gas
trading and bunkering, which is noth-
ing but vessels which carry fuel oil. The
company is into Agri-trading, mineral
trading, retail outlets, shipping, logis-
tics, aviation fueling.
With a scope of comprehensive
services, the customer has multiple
verticals in a group, where you need all
group level consolidation, and single
ERT talking to multiple business specific solutions.
For example, in refining you have a terminal manage-
ment solution, which needs to be integrated into the
core ERT to get all the details. In terms of trading and
bunkering, there is an energy trade risk management
system, where the hedging is done, and this needs to
be integrated into the system.
The biggest challenge they faced was that in
terms of one contract or one bunker, they couldn’t
track the original cost, shipping cost and the custom
cost. Considering the scale of business, the custom-
er decided that the firm needed a solution that would
not only give them a clear insight into their budget
economy but also create a single platform for their
multiple line of businesses.
After analyzing the benefits of Roboenergy built
on Microsoft Dynamics 365, and taking into consid-
eration the company’s scale of operations, Prithvi
Raj Kandimalla, Robosoft Solutions, was convinced it
was the most ideal solution for the firm.
Prithvi said, “Roboenergy is a solution, which is
built very specifically for this business scenario. It
gives a clear insight in terms of tracking, and what
would be the customers’ projected cost and margin,
and the tracking of all the revenues and expenditures
for a budget plan.”
With Roboenery, the customer could now monitor
the various shipments within the same contract and
enhance its profitability, which they have not been
able to achieve before.

2011, Robosoft joined the project,

The implementation began in
2011 and it took about four to six
months for Robosoft to streamline
all the solutions for the customer.
As a partner, one of the main
challenges Robosoft faced was to
createasingleplatformforallthedif-
ferent entities and line of business.
Prithvi said, “Building and im-
plementing a common platform for
multiple business lines across dif-
ferent countries that GP Global ca-
ters to was a major challenge. We
had to bring out everything on a
Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform
in order to be able to cater the di-
verse business requirement.”
“We built a complete manufac-
turing for the oil and gas sector,
terminal management, refinery
management and trader man-
agement. We designed these five
verticals for the customer to use a
single platform across the globe.”
He concluded by saying, “An-
other thing that we implemented
across the organization was the
SharePoint intranet. This was the
biggest advantage for the cus-
tomer because they had a single
login ID across the globe, and the
CSO levels were able to see the
data across the organization and

ACGS was tasked with the responsibility of helping
Royal Group, a leading Abu Dhabi-based investment
company, to protect and secure the organization, and
empower employees to work in new and flexible ways.
One of the challenges deterring this primary ob-
jective was the lack of complete feasibility of how to
migrate the resource in terms of cloud services that
Microsoft 365 offers.
Ali said, “Our approach focuses on innovative
ways of business, thereby combining IT innovations
and adoption while leveraging an organization’s cur-

ALI EL KONTAR, FOUNDER AND CEO, ZERO&ONE ELABORATES ON HOW THE FIRM UTILISED AWS TO DESIGN
A CUSTOMISED PLATFORM FOR AN ENERGY SERVICE COMPANY, ENABLING THE CUSTOMER TO GO FASTER TO

G
reen Power Generation is an energy
service company that helps its clients
– whether managing residential or com-
mercial buildings or operations, ware-
houses, schools, hospitals – reduce their
energy consumption by monitoring and
controlling their energy usage while also
providing recommendations for maxi-
mum energy savings. Unable to find one
single platform able to handle real time
monitoring and control, GPG depended
on multiple platforms which lacked scal-
ability, real-time monitoring and offered no possibili-
ty to retain data for future analysis and reporting.
The customer approached Zero&One, an Ama-
zon Web Services advance consulting partner, who
is recognised for its customer-centric approach, ex-
clusive focus on AWS and its multiple competencies.
To realise the goal of building a real-time mon-
itoring and control system, Zero&One worked with
Green Power Generation to build JellyFish, a highly
available, proprietary, serverless SaaS platform on
AWS leveraging 100 plus AWS Lambda functions
and an API gateway.
Ali El Kontar, Founder and CEO, Zero&One, said,
“While Zero&One handled the development and op-
erations, Green Power Solutions was able to focus
on their daily operations, client servicing and com-
petitive edge in optimising energy usage, unaffect-
ed by the absence of in-house expertise.”
By adding resources and extra hours of work,
Zero&One reduced their development time by half
and delivered the platform within the specified
time limitation.
The company realised immediate cost savings
through the scalable, pay-per-use model and the
removal of the per-sensor-charges they incurred
in the past.
“The multi-tenant SaaS architecture both added
a new revenue stream based on managed services
of Green Power Generation’s clients while simulta-
neously offering them a fast and simple onboarding
process,” Kontar added.

According to Zero&One, the
creation of a continuous inte-

the ground-breaking part of
the implementation.
By relying on Zero&One Man-

A
leading global construction firm, reputed
for safety, efficiency and timely delivery,
has been a constant target for infiltrators.
The customer faced occasional issues
within the organisation, such as email
and endpoint related attacks. However,
things got worse when a property devel-
oper was presented a tax invoice of AED
27 Million by someone claiming to be the
construction company.
The tax invoice raised was an exact
replica of the original invoice used by
the construction firm. It showed the project name,
number and milestone details as well as the employ-
ee’s name and contact details. After carefully inves-
tigating this brand exploit, the email address was
found to be slightly different from the original one.
In addition to that, the customer was facing laten-
cy and virus-related issues with external parties re-
ceiving attachments of the architecture plan. Besides,
archived email had latency issues during retrieval,
leading to poor employee, client and vendor experi-
ence. Finally, due to their white-collar employees who
operate from home (during COVID-19) increased the
vulnerability to rapidly rising web-based attacks.
The customer reached out to ICD Technologies, a
UAE-based solution provider, passionate about shap-

company’s specialisation lies in the field of Intelligent

“The main element was to en-

KULDEEP RAINA, MANAGING DIRECTOR, DELTRON, DISCUSSES DETAILS OF A PROJECT WHERE THE
FIRM IMPLEMENTED PTC CREO SOLUTION TO HELP A BESPOKE ARCHITECTURAL METALWORK COMPANY

To produce

Flexible software Delivers distinct
set of capabilities
A
leading UAE-based specialist and solu-
tion provider in architectural metalwork
and glass sought an industry-leading
designer, enduring solution for design-
ing the structure and frame.
The company was looking for a
solution that would be agile enough
to provide the customer with an offer-
ing, which would allow him to access
technology with flexible control, offer
a quicker innovation cycle, and which
would involve proactive support and
lower upfront costs.
The firm reached out to Deltron, a leading digital
manufacturing solutions company and a one-stop
solution provider for engineering needs. One of the
customers’ core requirement was to create digital
protype for a product. It wanted to use these digi-
tal prototypes to understand how the designs would
perform in a real-world environment.
Another requirement was that the customer
wanted to produce photorealistic renderings that
would incorporate sophisticated handling of light
scenes, model appearances etc.
Kuldeep Raina, Managing Director, Deltron, said,
“The customer wanted a solution that would be
backed up by a proper technical firm and a reliable
technical support. PTC’s Creo parametric had all of
the features in a single solution. Based on that, we
recommended the solution to the customer and
they are using this solution for over two years now.”
The entire implementation was completed in
seven days, which was the time taken to install
the application software on the PC. Within a
month, the customer started using the solution
to its full potential.

“THE BEST THING ABOUT IMPLEMENTING
PTC CREO IS THAT IT INCORPORATES ALL THE
MODULES WITHIN IT, RATHER THAN HAVING THE
CUSTOMER CHOOSE EACH MODULE.”
KULDEEP RAINA, MANAGING DIRECTOR, DELTRON
Raina said, “The best thing
about implementing PTC Creo
is that it incorporates all the
modules within it, rather than
having the customer choose
each module. The solution that
we provide along with the sub-
scription effectively offers the
customer the benefit to cher-
ry-pick the module we need to
select and then utilize it in his
current software or based on
his current workspace.”
The architectural company
was able to enjoy a number of ad-
vantages using the solution. With
the smooth implementation pro-
cess from Deltron, it could create
digital prototype for the product,
which earlier used to be time con-
suming with physical prototyping.
Additionally, the customer is
also planning to explore other
possibilities with the PTC Creo.
Raina highlighted, “Be it the
flexibility or the deployment of
the licenses, and the accessibility
of the team’s design at various lo-
cation, Deltron did a fantastic job
for the customer and the deploy-
ment went fairly well.”
“In relying on this solution, I’m
very confident that the customer
will yield rewards for the its future
potential projects of similar scale
or much higher scale.” n

GLEN DSENA, MANAGING PARTNER, AERIZO, DESCRIBES HOW THE FIRM ENABLED A LEADING
HEALTHCARE GROUP IN THE UAE TO REDUCE THE IT COMPLEXITY WHILE ENSURING THE DELIVERY
OF REAL-TIME, CONNECTED HEALTHCARE THAT TRANSFORMS THE COST, QUALITY, AND DELIVERY OF
PATIENT CARE.
Optimize current
infrastructure,
workloads and
applications
Provide seamless
customer-focused
services
Reduce operational
expenses
Reduced capital

costs
Increased IT
productivity,
efficiency,
agility and
responsiveness
Faster provisioning
of applications and

O
ne of the leading healthcare groups in UAE
which had a rehabilitation center in Al Ain,
was looking to optimize their current infra-
structure, workloads and applications to
support their vision of providing seamless
customer-focused services along with hu-
man experience and innovation.
The challenge they were facing was
that they had a mix-and-match of server
infrastructure from multiple vendors, mak-
ing it difficult to manage and troubleshoot
issues. This would affect their delivery
services as they were not able to mobilize apps and
services thus causing customer dissatisfaction.
The customer was keen to have a solution which
would reduce the IT complexity while ensuring the
delivery of real-time, connected healthcare that trans-
forms the cost, quality, and delivery of patient care.
After going through a thorough selection process,
they selected Aerizo based on their technical exper-
tise to implement such a solution.
Aerizo, being a VMware partner, proposed con-
solidation of all workloads and virtualizing their IT
infrastructure. The objective was to achieve in-
creased IT productivity, efficiency, agility & re-
sponsiveness and faster provisioning of applica-
tions and resources.
Glen Dsena, Managing Partner – Aerizo, said,
“Virtualization is the key and at the heart of digital
transformation that many companies are trying to
achieve today. With virtualization, companies can
consolidate their data centers and achieve busi-
ness continuity, leading to reduced cost and im-
proved productivity. Data center consolidation en-
ables companies to reduce capital expenditure by
increasing utilization of existing hardware.”
The implementation of consolidating and mov-
ing the workloads onto the virtual machines at the
primary site was done in over two weeks and set-
ting up the disaster recovery site (secondary site)
took a week, thus completing the entire implemen-
tation in three weeks from the design phase.

“THE INNOVATIVE ASPECT OF THIS
IMPLEMENTATION IS THAT THE UNPLANNED
DOWNTIME IS MINIMIZED WITH VMWARE
VSPHERE HIGH AVAILABILITY AND FAULT
TOLERANCE.”
GLEN DSENA, MANAGING PARTNER, AERIZO
The major challenge the firm
faced in implementation was get-
ting a downtime.
“Being a healthcare facility,
the systems needed to be up and
working 24x7. But our technical
team is well-equipped to deal with
such challenges and completed
the migration from physical to
virtual machines with minimum
downtime and not causing dis-
ruption of mission-critical applica-
tions,” said Dsena.
“The innovative aspect of the
implementation is that the un-
planned downtime is minimized
with VMware vSphere high avail-
ability and fault tolerance.”
High availability provides
cost-effective failover protection
against system outages by auto-
matically restarting VM’s when an
outage is detected.
Fault tolerance takes this a step
further by running an identical copy
of the workloads in one step on a
separate server. If the primary in-
stance goes down, the secondary
instance continues where the pri-
mary ended, providing continuous
availability for the customer’s mis-
sion critical applications.
Dsena said, “vsphere eliminates
planned downtime with vMotion.
Unlike physical environments, if you
know the downtime will occur, you
can pre-emptively move VM’s to
another server, retaining all network
connections and identities, thus
keeping all applications working.” n

ntertec Systems is a regional IT services and
solutions provider serving government, BFSI,
retail, real estate healthcare and service provid-
ers across the Middle East and India. Intertec’s
key capabilities include digitalization, IT ser-
vices and operations, infrastructure solutions,
cloud, smart assets and IoT, and cybersecurity.
Intertec was tasked with the responsibility
of helping a government entity who had abso-
lutely no visibility into their organizational data.
The customer needed to make sure that the
data were consistent and reliable without any
malicious content. This data, according to the entity,
is leveraged to take mission critical business deci-
sions by the team of executives, which otherwise
could cause havoc.
After spending considerable time understand-
ing the core requirements, the Intertec Systems
team knew without a doubt that Micro Focus Arc-
Sight solution would perfectly address the cus-
tomer’s challenge.
“The government entity had no technology
capabilities prior to our engagement,” said Likh-
ith S, Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure and
Security Practice, Intertec Systems. “With our
solution, their teams now have access to real time
data from IT and OT environments, and are able to
make dynamic decisions through their AI enabled
data analytics platform.”
Post technical assessment, Intertec decided
to bank on multiple technologies such as hybrid
IT, cybersecurity, data centre built, data analytics
platform, etc.
Likhith said, “A major component is ArcSight.

The users had also been provid-
ed with the necessary training by
Intertec Systems.
The enterprise architect high-
lighted, “Redington extended its
help with the implementation at
areas where we had limited skills
on the integration.”
As the data was extracted
from multiple sources/platforms,
integrating them was a key chal-
lenge, explained Likhith.
“Even a small error would lead
to invalid data thus defeating the
overall purpose of this project.
We integrated the logs from IT

culiar scenarios.”
He concluded by saying, “The
project’s key accomplishments
are the amount of visibility, in-

the attack surface. The manage-
ment have also been benefited
in several ways, such as getting
insights into real time IT and OT

  • 6. VALUE STORIES|ISSUE 56 PRITHVI RAJ KANDIMALLA, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, ROBOSOFT SOLUTIONS ON WHY ROBOENERGY BUILT ON MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 PLATFORM, WAS THE MOST COMPATIBLE SOLUTION FOR THE CUSTOMERS’ REQUIREMENTS. To have a single tracking platform for its multiple business lines To track the cost To enhance security of operations Interconnected security Plan, estimate and manage deal transaction costs and revenues Comprehensive business solution G P Global is majorly into commodity trading, manufacturing, refinery and terminals. They are also into oil and gas trading and bunkering, which is noth- ing but vessels which carry fuel oil. The company is into Agri-trading, mineral trading, retail outlets, shipping, logis- tics, aviation fueling. With a scope of comprehensive services, the customer has multiple verticals in a group, where you need all group level consolidation, and single ERT talking to multiple business specific solutions. For example, in refining you have a terminal manage- ment solution, which needs to be integrated into the core ERT to get all the details. In terms of trading and bunkering, there is an energy trade risk management system, where the hedging is done, and this needs to be integrated into the system. The biggest challenge they faced was that in terms of one contract or one bunker, they couldn’t track the original cost, shipping cost and the custom cost. Considering the scale of business, the custom- er decided that the firm needed a solution that would not only give them a clear insight into their budget economy but also create a single platform for their multiple line of businesses. After analyzing the benefits of Roboenergy built on Microsoft Dynamics 365, and taking into consid- eration the company’s scale of operations, Prithvi Raj Kandimalla, Robosoft Solutions, was convinced it was the most ideal solution for the firm. Prithvi said, “Roboenergy is a solution, which is built very specifically for this business scenario. It gives a clear insight in terms of tracking, and what would be the customers’ projected cost and margin, and the tracking of all the revenues and expenditures for a budget plan.” With Roboenery, the customer could now monitor the various shipments within the same contract and enhance its profitability, which they have not been able to achieve before. IN THE YEAR 2011, ROBO SOFT JOINED THE PROJECT, REVISING THIS IMPLEMENTATION.” PRITHVI RAJ KANDIMALLA, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, ROBOSOFT SOLUTIONS Prithvi added, “The customer had been trying to implement Mic- rosoft Dynamics 365 for a couple of years, and they were failing misera- bly in the entire process. In the year 2011, Robosoft joined the project, revising this implementation.” The implementation began in 2011 and it took about four to six months for Robosoft to streamline all the solutions for the customer. As a partner, one of the main challenges Robosoft faced was to createasingleplatformforallthedif- ferent entities and line of business. Prithvi said, “Building and im- plementing a common platform for multiple business lines across dif- ferent countries that GP Global ca- ters to was a major challenge. We had to bring out everything on a Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform in order to be able to cater the di- verse business requirement.” “We built a complete manufac- turing for the oil and gas sector, terminal management, refinery management and trader man- agement. We designed these five verticals for the customer to use a single platform across the globe.” He concluded by saying, “An- other thing that we implemented across the organization was the SharePoint intranet. This was the biggest advantage for the cus- tomer because they had a single login ID across the globe, and the CSO levels were able to see the data across the organization and throughout the department with a single click of a button.” n HOW ROBOSOFT SOLUTIONS DID IT? One of the challenges deterring this primary ob- jective was the lack of complete feasibility of how to migrate the resource in terms of cloud services that Microsoft 365 offers. Ali said, “Our approach focuses on innovative ways of business, thereby combining IT innovations and adoption while leveraging an organization’s cur- rent assets. • 10. VALUE STORIES|ISSUE 510 ALI EL KONTAR, FOUNDER AND CEO, ZERO&ONE ELABORATES ON HOW THE FIRM UTILISED AWS TO DESIGN A CUSTOMISED PLATFORM FOR AN ENERGY SERVICE COMPANY, ENABLING THE CUSTOMER TO GO FASTER TO MARKET AND DELIVER A HIGHLY RELIABLE PLATFORM. To build a single platform able to handle real time monitoring and control To retain data for future analysis To reduce operating costs Unlocks efficiencies and operational benefits Focus more on core competencies Deliver a highly reliable platform G reen Power Generation is an energy service company that helps its clients – whether managing residential or com- mercial buildings or operations, ware- houses, schools, hospitals – reduce their energy consumption by monitoring and controlling their energy usage while also providing recommendations for maxi- mum energy savings. Unable to find one single platform able to handle real time monitoring and control, GPG depended on multiple platforms which lacked scal- ability, real-time monitoring and offered no possibili- ty to retain data for future analysis and reporting. The customer approached Zero&One, an Ama- zon Web Services advance consulting partner, who is recognised for its customer-centric approach, ex- clusive focus on AWS and its multiple competencies. To realise the goal of building a real-time mon- itoring and control system, Zero&One worked with Green Power Generation to build JellyFish, a highly available, proprietary, serverless SaaS platform on AWS leveraging 100 plus AWS Lambda functions and an API gateway. Ali El Kontar, Founder and CEO, Zero&One, said, “While Zero&One handled the development and op- erations, Green Power Solutions was able to focus on their daily operations, client servicing and com- petitive edge in optimising energy usage, unaffect- ed by the absence of in-house expertise.” By adding resources and extra hours of work, Zero&One reduced their development time by half and delivered the platform within the specified time limitation. The company realised immediate cost savings through the scalable, pay-per-use model and the removal of the per-sensor-charges they incurred in the past. “The multi-tenant SaaS architecture both added a new revenue stream based on managed services of Green Power Generation’s clients while simulta- neously offering them a fast and simple onboarding process,” Kontar added. Moreover, GPG were able to offer customers customised re- porting and adapt their custom- ers’ request in record time. Kontar said, “We began re- ceiving huge data when we tried to get 5000 sensors onboard, so we had to rethink our architec- ture. That was particularly chal- lenging for us, because control and tracking should be done in real time. AWS tools such as kinesis helped us achieve re- al-time data and gather a huge amount of information.” “The first phase was com- pleted in six months and we de- veloped a continuous delivery system so that we can continue to develop and go to production in a continuous way, where we can add any new features and updates immediately.” According to Zero&One, the creation of a continuous inte- gration and distribution sys- tem using AWS services was the ground-breaking part of the implementation. By relying on Zero&One Man- aged Service, GPG was able to fully focus on their core compe- tency and build a strong long- term partnership. Robust security against rising cyber-threats Company’s data & brand reputation protection Multi-layered & proactive cybersecurity Email Security, Web-Security, Brand-exploit protect in one platform Solution from reputed & cloud- specialized cyber- security vendor A leading global construction firm, reputed for safety, efficiency and timely delivery, has been a constant target for infiltrators. The customer faced occasional issues within the organisation, such as email and endpoint related attacks. However, things got worse when a property devel- oper was presented a tax invoice of AED 27 Million by someone claiming to be the construction company. The tax invoice raised was an exact replica of the original invoice used by the construction firm. It showed the project name, number and milestone details as well as the employ- ee’s name and contact details. After carefully inves- tigating this brand exploit, the email address was found to be slightly different from the original one. In addition to that, the customer was facing laten- cy and virus-related issues with external parties re- ceiving attachments of the architecture plan. Besides, archived email had latency issues during retrieval, leading to poor employee, client and vendor experi- ence. Finally, due to their white-collar employees who operate from home (during COVID-19) increased the vulnerability to rapidly rising web-based attacks. The customer reached out to ICD Technologies, a UAE-based solution provider, passionate about shap- ing the future of work, by bringing enhanced efficien- cy and greater security to the clients in the region. Optimize current infrastructure, workloads and applications Provide seamless customer-focused services Reduce operational expenses Reduced capital and operating costs Increased IT productivity, efficiency, agility and responsiveness Faster provisioning of applications and resources O ne of the leading healthcare groups in UAE which had a rehabilitation center in Al Ain, was looking to optimize their current infra- structure, workloads and applications to support their vision of providing seamless customer-focused services along with hu- man experience and innovation. The challenge they were facing was that they had a mix-and-match of server infrastructure from multiple vendors, mak- ing it difficult to manage and troubleshoot issues. This would affect their delivery services as they were not able to mobilize apps and services thus causing customer dissatisfaction. The customer was keen to have a solution which would reduce the IT complexity while ensuring the delivery of real-time, connected healthcare that trans- forms the cost, quality, and delivery of patient care. After going through a thorough selection process, they selected Aerizo based on their technical exper- tise to implement such a solution. Aerizo, being a VMware partner, proposed con- solidation of all workloads and virtualizing their IT infrastructure. The objective was to achieve in- creased IT productivity, efficiency, agility & re- sponsiveness and faster provisioning of applica- tions and resources. Glen Dsena, Managing Partner – Aerizo, said, “Virtualization is the key and at the heart of digital transformation that many companies are trying to achieve today. With virtualization, companies can consolidate their data centers and achieve busi- ness continuity, leading to reduced cost and im- proved productivity. Data center consolidation en- ables companies to reduce capital expenditure by increasing utilization of existing hardware.” The implementation of consolidating and mov- ing the workloads onto the virtual machines at the primary site was done in over two weeks and set- ting up the disaster recovery site (secondary site) took a week, thus completing the entire implemen- tation in three weeks from the design phase. But our technical team is well-equipped to deal with such challenges and completed the migration from physical to virtual machines with minimum downtime and not causing dis- ruption of mission-critical applica- tions,” said Dsena. “The innovative aspect of the implementation is that the un- planned downtime is minimized with VMware vSphere high avail- ability and fault tolerance.” High availability provides cost-effective failover protection against system outages by auto- matically restarting VM’s when an outage is detected. Fault tolerance takes this a step further by running an identical copy of the workloads in one step on a separate server. If the primary in- stance goes down, the secondary instance continues where the pri- mary ended, providing continuous availability for the customer’s mis- sion critical applications. Dsena said, “vsphere eliminates planned downtime with vMotion. Unlike physical environments, if you know the downtime will occur, you can pre-emptively move VM’s to another server, retaining all network connections and identities, thus keeping all applications working.” n HOW AERIZO DID IT?
