This document outlines experiences using educational technologies at primary and secondary schools as well as companies. It discusses projects using augmented reality tools, virtual worlds, and simulation architectures to support problem-based learning. Challenges are described such as populating virtual and real worlds with linked elements and establishing interactions between the worlds. The document concludes that addressing issues like authoring tools, interoperability, standards, and monitoring across spaces can help take advantage of the connections between real and virtual learning environments.
