This document discusses inserting WAN optimization services into OpenStack. It introduces Cisco vWAAS, a virtual WAN optimization appliance that can be deployed on hypervisors. Use cases are described where the cloud service provider offers infrastructure only, infrastructure and services like vWAAS, or infrastructure and vWAAS but allows customers to use their own WAN optimization licenses. The document proposes collaborating to define APIs for WAN optimization as a service and developing a Cisco-specific plugin to extend vWAAS features in OpenStack.

manage applications and other services like WAN Optimization

customer will have to choose the WAN Optimization vendor as provided by the CSP
