At the meeting, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles presented the Vice-Chancellor’s Report to the Council on the major advancements across The UWI's four campuses during the last academic year and articulated his “Triple A Vision” for rekindling the activist university.

• Cave Hill Campus’ earnings of foreign exchange are almost 5 times that
of the sugar industry and just $11 million less than the earnings from the
entire rum industry.
• Estimated that the Campus accounted for 1.7 % of the Barbados Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) in 2009. By 2012 and 2013, this estimate had
risen to 2.2 % of GDP, approximately 0.5 of a percentage point higher
than in 2009.
• Study estimates that Cave Hill Campus generates approximately $200
million in additional economic activity on average (over 2 percent of
national GDP), and an estimated $80 million in foreign exchange
annually.
• The Cave Hill Campus is estimated to have generated approximately
$191 million in gross value added activities in 2013
• Campus’ overseas students would have contributed an estimated $43.8
million to overall national expenditure in the same year or approximately
0.5 % of GDP
