Chu-Yuan Lee and Wang Chung-Ping are architects that designed the Taipei 101 Tower under their firm C.Y Lee & Partners. Their design philosophy was to bring 21st century avant-garde Oriental Architecture to the world. Taipei 101 Tower was constructed between 1999-2004 in Taipei, Taiwan. It utilizes steel and stainless steel in its wind damper system, decorations, windows, and structure like support pillars to provide support, counter movements from wind and earthquakes, and add aesthetic value.
