- Visual Design is pretty much the same as User Experience. It’s UI, branding, layout, colour, typography, photography, illustration, animation… and so much more. It’s everything the user sees and reads. Makes sense, right?
- Many of you will already know all this, some of you may not. But I wanted to take a moment to say what I think UXD is, what it isn’t, what it means to me and (this might sound obvious) why it matters to our industry that we do more of it.
- I’m assuming everyone here is in some way involved in delivering or developing learning strategies and/or applications. Quick show of hands… Is there anyone here from a design background or is currently working as a designer of any sort? Is there anyone here would consider themselves a user experience practitioner? Well the fact is we are all user experience practictioners in some way. Well he’s not. I’ll tell you why in a moment.
- I’ll start with what UX Design isn’t because there’s a broad misunderstanding around this. There are many things it isn’t but here’s just a few things to think about…
