find it intuitively easy to use. In the Web context,
this structure is termed Information Architecture
which makes User Experience simply simple.
Information Architecture 3-fold deliverables:
● Strategic Information Architecture delivers
structural diagrams with technical annotations to
define information flow within a system comprising
client, middle-tier, back-end and integrated systems.
● Technical Information Architecture defines
information process flow and navigation – from User

Introducing User-driven
Meta Architecture within
User Ecosystem
User-driven Meta Architecture is
layers of multiple architectural
overlaps within a user-driven user
experience journey from start to end
travelling through multiple technology
layers, disparate systems, digital
devices and gadgets. The term “Meta
Architecture” relates to related
architectures within user ecosystem.

Architecting User Experience for User Ecosystem:
The New World Customer Journey: Extract from Article by Sushmita Dutt
"Cyberspace is not a place you go to but rather a layer tightly integrated into the world
around us" ‐ Institute for The Future
2020 through 2021, The New World User Experience is setting new trends and new rules for us who deliver
User Experience journey, User Flow and User-centric design. The goal is User Satisfaction. Our role now
demands knowledge of User Eco system- the physical world user lives in, the digital world user interacts
with, and the collaborative world that delivers User Experience as needed by user initiated tasks.
The New World mandated social distancing, work from home, meetings online, shopping online, entertainment online
and monetary transactions like banking online have challenged us, UX architects and designers, with understanding
varied Process Flows (from system to system, technical layers to layers) that user journeys through to accomplish
desired tasks.
In today’s customer‐ centric marketplace every business, all across the globe, is required to have presence in the
cyberspace to deliver seamless user experience. From a simple product or application interface to cyber ecosystem
connectivity, computation is everywhere and every user experience follows a narrative, a behavioral pattern which we,
technology designers, call use case scenarios. We document these scenarios to follow user footsteps and deliver user
friendly human computer interactions. The terms “user friendly” simply means “ease of use”. Here is an example,
the case is Mobile Applications for “Scan and Go”. The business need is to let user download a specific store
application, say, Walmart, use the application to scan products user wants to buy, the process flow lists all products
scanned, presents a bill on the fly, user pays online from the mobile phone and gets an “Exit” bar code generated on
the phone to get out of the store.
Here is the User Flow and Process Flow of “Scan and Go” application
to purchase online or in-store without any human interaction.
Chester Downloads the App.

Delivering Ease
Mobile application Concept development from scratch…
Need Analysis: Pharmaceutical company sales reps are required to make
product presentations during doctor visits. The sales reps then write an online
report on interactions with doctors and how the product has been evaluated. It is
hard to validate these reports especially feedback from doctors which have not
been captured in real time.

Mobile Concept: An application has been conceptualized to capture geo-location of the sales repsvisit
to doctor with location details. The sales rep uses the application to present an interactive product
presentation to the doctor. Feedback from the doctor is captured via the application’s interactive
Evaluation screen. The entire data gets transpired to the pharmaceutical company’s database. An
extension of this application is Web-based where over a dashboard environment, marketing
supervisors of the pharmaceutical company evaluate and grade the sales reps performance and
generate marketing reports on the product evaluation.

User Centered Design (UCD)
User experience strategic design roofs the
basic pillars that hold an interactive
technology platform together–
• Information Architecture
• Interactivity Design
• Interface Design
• Data Flow and BusinessLogic
How do we translate User Experience Strategies into UDC - User Centered
Designs? While each company follows its own user experience strategies
primarily driven by corporate branding policies, here is a structured methodology
approach to user experience design - a generic model:
