The document summarizes contradictions in the US approach to the Syrian war. It argues that by supporting Syrian Islamist rebels, the US is supporting extremist forces that view other religious groups as subhuman. This contradiction guarantees US failure in Syria. In contrast to past just wars like WWII, the Syrian war lacks moral justification and is the most unjust war waged by the Western world.
Article in The Times of Israel by Andy Blumenthal: he Israeli-Palestinian conflict is really about fear vs. humiliation. The Jews are fearful of the Palestinians and the Palestinians feel humiliated by the Jews. The Jewish people collectively suffer post-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders after millennia of persecution culminating in the Holocaust and multiple Wars in Israel against far greater Arab forces. Further, this has been perpetuated by decades of terrorism and Intifadas that have left the Jews feeling vulnerable in their own land of Israel. The net effect of this Jewish history and of being surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs, many resentful and angry, is that Jews are naturally afraid. At the same time, the Palestinians, as part of the greater Arabs, feel humiliated after the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the carving up of their lands by the West and the colonialism and occupation that followed by Britain and France. More recently, the Palestinians feel humiliated by the founding of the State of Israel amidst the multitude of Arab lands of the Middle of East, as well as by the barrier wall and regular checkpoints that protects Israel from terrorist intruders, by the West Bank settlements (and actually by Jews anywhere in Israel), and by general Israeli military control over the territories.
Balkan Conflict and Football // Hooliganism in FootballDanni Ketju
My final presentations for my Masters Degree examinations. The first subject is on the role football (soccer) played in the build up of the Balkan Wars, and how it clicks into the subject of "identity" in the region.
The second subject is on different elements often overlooked in the study of violence in crowd sports, particularly in football. What triggers certain people to become violent before, during and after a match? Are there any social or political reasons behind the phenomenon? What makes hooliganism so prevalent in European and South American football, but a topic rarely discussed in American sports -NHL,NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS?
Lastly, a brief explanation of what was the main focus of my Master Thesis (which has been modified somewhat lately), on the subject of nationalism in German football.

his article argues that women of colour were central to the process of the legal transition to free labour in Cuba. Through an examination of legal appeals for freedom – which were often facilitated by new opportunities created by transition legislation – it shows that women were motivated by factors such as their families and frequently by their position as urban domestic servants. They could also make use of gendered understandings of slavery and freedom, which were socially prevalent although not legally enshrined. The paper argues that a focus on women and gender may have important implications for our understanding of Cuba's transition to free labour and of some of the constructions of citizenship and nationhood with which it was entwined.

Lastly more serious is the basic
strategic as well as moral contradiction
in US modus operandi.
USA is arming and supporting the very
evil force of Islamic extremism that it
claims to fight in Afghanistan and
worldwide.
By supporting Syrian Islamists USA is
supporting a force that sees all
moderate Muslims , Christians,
Shias,Yazidis and Kurds as sub
humans.
This last fact is the worst contradiction
in USAs Syrian war and a guarantee of
US failure in Syria.
When the USA waged the Second
World War and the Soviet Afghan war
there was a moral justification and a “
Just War” being waged. But Syrian war
as history has proved is the most
Unjust War waged by the western
world in its entire history.
