The document summarizes Israel's 2005 disengagement plan to evict Jewish settlers from Gaza and parts of the West Bank. It shows images captured by Israeli media documenting the evictions, which portray soldiers and evacuees treating each other with kindness, respect, and dignity despite the heartbreak of losing their homes. Soldiers are seen comforting children and carrying evacuees gently from their homes and synagogues in respect of symbolic protests against leaving. Both evacuees and soldiers felt deep sorrow over the forced removals.

Israeli soldiers are often accused of committing atrocities. I created the following presentation to give people who live abroad a glimpse of the true face of Israeli soldiers. Take a look and see what your media is not showing you.

On Jerusalem Day the reunification of the eternal capital of the Jewish people is celebrated with a march of flags through Damascus Gate to the Western Wall (the only part of the Temple Mount where Jews are allowed to gather freely).
On the eve of Jerusalem Day 2015 a very different march took place – in the exact same route as the Jewish flag parade.. There was no media coverage but there was much enthusiasm from the Arab population of Jerusalem.
One year later on Jerusalem Day there were discussions in the Israeli Supreme Court regarding the legitimacy of Israel's traditional flag parade. It has become a "provocation" against our Muslim neighbors to wave the national flag in nation's capital.
While too many Israelis are drifting from our glorious past, our neighbors are thinking about the long term, teaching their youth and striving to a very different future
War in Haifa is a photo series created by photojournalist Lenny M from Haifa. The series documents the effects of the Second Lebanon war in Haifa, located in northern Israel.
The war began on 12 July 2006 when Hezbollah instigated missile attacks on Israeli towns, crossed the border killing Israeli soldiers and taking the bodies back across the border to Lebanon. For 34 days Hezbollah bombarded Israeli towns with missiles filled with metal "death balls," pre-meditated shrapnel designed to rip holes in anything in its path: metal, wood and flesh. In this war it wasn't soldiers who were attacked; it was men, women in children – in their homes. For the first time Haifa, a city in the heart of undisputed Israel, became the frontline of war.
When Israel comes up in conversation people around the world have a tendency to think only of politics and the Palestinian-Israeli the conflict. Israel is much more than that… take a look at something completely different – birds of Israel. Nature here is extremely diverse and beautiful. Take a look, enjoy!

role of women and girls in various terror groupssadiakorobi2
Women have three distinct types of involvement: direct involvement in terrorist acts; enabling of others to commit such acts; and facilitating the disengagement of others from violent or extremist groups.
In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.

IDF soldiers during the Disengagement from Gaza
1. The “Disengagement Plan” In August 2005, in an attempt to placate Palestinians and to stop the violent Intifada waged against the citizens of Israel Israel’s government sent security forces to evict the Jewish residents of Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip and some of the Jewish communities in the Shomron (West Bank). The international media carefully selected the images they showed to portray the disengagement. This presentation shows a small example of what the Israeli media documented.
2. Inside the container: A tired soldier rests, two men covered by prayer shawls pray, two men comfort each other… there is no violence, only mourning for a way of life lost. Sanur, August 23, 2005 Soldiers use a metal container to lower protestors from a rooftop.
3. Many expected Jew to fight Jew. Instead kindness, friendship, dignity and respect prevailed.
4. Patient and respectful soldiers listen as a resident expresses anguish at being evicted from her home. Sanur, August 23, 2005
5. Border policemen carry this man so gently he is able to read from a prayer book while being evicted from his synagogue. Elei Sinai, Aug. 21, 2005 In a symbolic protest many refused to leave on their own two feet. Evictors, honoring this protest, carried many evictees…
10. Katif, August 21, 2005. These examples show the Israeli determination to overcome even the most heartbreaking of events. The evictions are completed. The dignity and compassion ingrained in the Israeli spirit will live on. For her, he’s a tower of strength but his face betrays him, showing his sorrow.
