This document summarizes tumors of the kidney. It describes benign kidney tumors such as papillary adenoma, transitional cell papilloma, angiomyolipoma, oncocytoma, and nephroplastoma. It also describes malignant renal tumors including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common type, and nephroblastoma or Wilms tumor, which is more common in children under 4 years old. RCC originates from renal parenchyma and is more common in older adults, while Wilms tumor originates from renal pelvis and has no known predisposing factors.
