Corporate Real Estate at the Crossroads - Cost vs. Value: Australian CRE tren...JLL
Having been through some of the most challenging economic times in recent history, we believe corporate real estate (CRE) is at the crossroads. In a post-GFC environment, cost efficiency is here to stay and is viewed as business as usual. But today, the C-suite is asking CRE to shift the focus from cost to value creation, with CRE having to deliver on both sides of the cost vs value equation.
‘Corporate Real Estate at the Crossroads: Cost vs Value’ identifies four key strategies to deliver both cost savings and value creation. To learn more, please visit http://bit.ly/1qpc0Hq

How to apply Crowdfunding and Crowdsourcing starting from MoMu's Study Collection as Use Case
Most museum collections are locked away from their users, even though there is a strong case to be made for giving direct access. MoMu and the University of Antwerp (Faculty of Design Sciences, Conservation Studies) are setting up an accessible collection compiled for the sole purpose of study, research, training and inspiration. We strongly believe this will initiate a new dialogue with our users, and we want our study collection to be usable and reusable in every aspect.
But we also firmly believe in crowdfunding and co-creation, for and with our users. Therefore, we are working together with Goteo Foundation to build a hybrid crowdfunding and crowdsourcing framework in order to set up a reusable fashion museum.
Our challenges for the session are:
How can crowd engagement help open standards for collaboration?
How can this collaboration help design a comprehensive, educative lab context?
How can we integrate the entire process (conception, design, prototyping, financing) for new project development?
Will the crowd begin to bring more social innovation to the long-term planning required to determine the future of our cultural heritage?
Ultimately, the question becomes: will future heritage be financed and co-curated by the crowd?

3. Introduction
UrbanKnowmad is a side project that seeks to discover the
secrets of what truly drives entrepreneurial ecosystems to
fruition.
While entrepreneurship ecosystems consist of hundreds of
specific elements, our focus lies in the conducive culture such
as new value creation in organizations or modern workspaces.
We are strong believers that the future of work (either for small
startups or multinational companies) is interdisciplinary and
cross cultural. So we seek to better understand the why, the
how, the who, and the when by talking to those who have
done it right.

5. UrbanKnowmads are nomadic knowledge workers –creative,
imaginative, and innovative people who can work with almost
anybody, anytime, and anywhere.
UrbanKnowmad describes a successful blend between
traditional (k)no(w)madic and current millennial urban way of
work.
Introduction

7. Approach & Goals
We understand that making
mistakes is natural and part of the
learning curve, but we also firmly
believe in the benefits of learning
from other people’s best practices
and mistakes. That is why we
believe in the power of focused
mentorship, and sharing
knowledge and experience openly
and honestly.
Knowing how to combine
workplace knowledge with
organization specific research
and apply those findings
throughout the design process
can lead to a high-performance
environment.
Urbanknowmad would like to
visit Creative Workspaces in
Europe and the Gulf region to
understand their impact on the
level of entrepreneurship.
An ever-expanding network is the
backbone to our entire program.
Our open space environment
program seeks to bring the
creative communities of Europe
and the Gulf together to share
best practices on building and
growing sustainable organizations
by focusing on people, culture,
and space.
Modern Workspaces Master Classes Networking
We’re looking for passionate makers, doers and idea-execution lovers to build an open
space environment to share, create and launch projects that enhance entrepreneurship
ecosystems.

9. Come Together Program
TRANSLATE IDEAS FROM VISION TO REALITY
UrbanKnowmad seeks to organize 2016 a
symposium that brings together talented
European and Arab makers, doers and idea-
execution lovers. We want to meet incredible
people, learn about crazy projects and discover
how Arab entrepreneurs cultivate conditions of
entrepreneurial ventures.
We seek to visit three cities (Jeddah, Kuwait City
and Abu Dhabi) in the span of seven days and
organize several events. Our goal is to
document our experience and initiate a
continuous exchange between the continents.

10. Come Together Program
TRANSLATE IDEAS FROM VISION TO REALITY
Need: For too long, the world has focused on becoming competitors at the expense of
being collaborators.
Benefit: Observational learning is one of the most natural and powerful ways to learn. In a
Global Coworking Survey, 71% of respondents said their creativity had increased by simply
working next to someone. So imagine how beneficial a cross boundary learning can be.
Approach: UrbanKnowmad seeks to organize symposiums that brings together talented
European and Arab makers, doers and idea-execution lovers to empower learning from
each other.
