The document discusses a crowdfunding campaign for an open source control interface called BHOREAL. It provides details on the goals of the campaign, which include developing a reference web platform and building a large community around the project. The campaign aims to raise funds to cover design, production, and documentation costs. Rewards for contributors range from acknowledgement for a €5 contribution to packs of equipment for larger contributions.
In this session Mauricio O´Brien from Platoniq introduces the audience to crowdfunding as an alternative funding strategy for cultural heritage projects. We will warm up with a first-hand story of Europeana and our partner Platoniq about the experiences with Platoniq’s crowdfunding platform Goteo.org, with special focus on cultural projects.
Then, together, we will:
• Discuss where and how crowdfunding bring most value, e.g., suitable types of projects and main benefits
• Identify risks and barriers for implementation and how to overcome them, e.g., how to design a successful crowd-funding campaign
• Share plans for such projects in 2015 and list help and partners
Putting the Crowd in the Picture: Crowdfunding and Cultural HeritageOlivier Schulbaum
A talk by Olivier Schulbaum at Europeana Creative Culture Jam 2015, Austrian National Library, July 9-10, 2015.
The doors of the galleries, libraries, archives and museums have now opened wider, and the keys to the glass cases are increasingly in reach of anyone with an interest in participating. Will the crowd begin to bring more social innovation to the long-term planning required to determine the future of our cultural heritage? It’s best not to think of this trend as “crowdsourcing”, but rather as citizen participation, even “citizen curation”. Ultimately, the question becomes: will future heritage be financed and co-curated by the crowd?
Crowdfunding Beyond money: sharing Goteo’s challenges with NestaOlivier Schulbaum
Goteo has been invited by Nesta (independent charity that works to increase the innovation capacity of the UK) in order to present Goteo and our experience after three initial years of activity. Coinciding with the launching of the report “ Understanding Alternative Finance: The UK Alternative Finance Industry Report 2014 ” by Nesta and Cambridge University, we are sharing today how do we put innovative and impact crowdfunding into practice, at the event Alternative Finance in the UK: what we know and where it's going.
Because we think that crowdfunding campaigns are not only about money: they are about having and nourishing an engaged and supportive community around your project. And so, people crowdfund but also crowdsource. They can give projects their time, materials, information, advice and other valuable resources without expecting anything in exchange, but the fact of becoming part of the project itself as a real community (sometimes taking part even in the production process of the projects).
Digital strategy design for museums and cultural institution - Muzeum@digit 2015 conference presentation by Stephane Bezombes, reciproque.
The digital enhancement of cultural heritage is the result of a history that began in the mid 1970s. Museums needs long term vision, not only just-in-time projects. Organizations need to establish a digital strategy to emerge, develop, capture value and (re)design services.
Museums teams not need to deliver one-use products, but to produce painkillers applications and digital tools for liberating intelligence, and engage audiences.

National Digital Forum 2015 Wellington conference presentation
The State Library of NSW has recently embarked on an ambitious programme to digitise 52 of its most significant collections and make them available to all. This expansion of collection content available online brings with it many challenges around how the organisation can manage to describe these collections, make them discoverable, and deliver them in innovative ways.
One of the outcomes of the Digital Excellence Programme is the establishment of an innovation hub, the DX Lab, the first dedicated innovation lab in an Australian cultural heritage institution. The DX Lab has been set up to experiment with the Library’s vast amount of collection content using the API and data sets that are being created from the results of the mass digitisation program. #DXLab @statelibrarynsw

To have an impact in the classroom, museums must first ensure that their resources can be easily found. One of the most effective ways to improve discoverability of digital learning resources is to create and share standardized metadata through national programs such as the Learning Resource Metadata Initiative (LRMI) and the Learning Registry. This session will introduce these topics for museum education and technical staff members and share evaluation data on current implementation projects. Case studies presented from the Smithsonian and the North Carolina Museum of Art. The need for museum strategy to be audience driven is now directed and enabled (in an accelerated way) by digital technologies. This allows, or requires, museums to understand the intersection between the needs of those it hopes to serve and the capacity of its own organization to meet them: to provide customized experiences and opportunities to unique audience groups. Educators are one of museums' historically most-valued audiences. Opportunities to have greater impact with teachers, their students, and the learning experiences they create, are great—greater than in the past, when museums focused on adult programming, school visitation, and exhibition-centered lesson plans. These new opportunities lie primarily in the utilization of museum collections and resources within the classroom, where the teacher can make use of them in ways that fit naturally into the learning process they have already developed for their students. To enable this, as we should, museums need to understand this group and how they use digital assets to design and deliver learning experiences. This study looks towards the development of a reusable framework for addressing this need through an understanding of the evolving role of the museum in the education space, the process and knowledge bases required for teachers to be designers of learning resources, and finally the ways that technology itself (in this case, primarily the Web) changes the nature of teaching and learning. The framework proposed is used to develop a survey instrument that is then tested through a case study of an emergent digital platform for teachers, the Smithsonian Learning Lab.

The cost of participation — Amplifying democracy by bridging political participation, digital campaigning platforms, and civic crowdfunding. Crossing communities and technologies between Decidim and Goteo
"The good reception of digital platforms for citizen participation launched by the municipalities of Barcelona and Madrid –Decidim and Decide madrid– have made evident the need to continue stimulating and accompanying the transition towards civic participation through online platforms.
At the same time, only a very small number of citizen proposals currently go beyond the initial phases and become visible to other citizens. We need to create mechanisms so that these initiatives that seek a local impact reach the potentially interested people, and stimulate forms of direct citizen participation. We, at Platoniq lab are designing interventions in digital platforms that potentially stimulate direct democracy in the urban context, as is the case of civic crowdfunding platforms such as Goteo.org.
The initiatives proposed in these citizen participation platforms currently have a very short life expectancy or lack visibility. We propose to increase the viability and strength of these proposals by creating a synergy between citizen participation platforms such as Decidim and the civic crowdfunding of Goteo.org and similar platforms
I will present concrete ways of implementing this combined system of Crowdvocacy from systematic data analysis and also from the comparative analysis of civic crowdfunding cases, and sharing results and materials of these research activities, namely:
1) a technological analysis at the level of the design programming of a simplified fundraising campaign structure for citizens initiatives in Decidim and 2) the analysis of communities of the two platforms — Decidim and Goteo — to detect the convergences and connections at a sociodemographic level, geographical location, topic, and motivations. 3) a proposal for a Decidim feature aimed at measuring volunteers work impact. The purpose is not just to measure time spent by participants, but also observe the kind of labor that’s happening and needed to sustain a process.

US Economic Outlook - Being Decided - M Capital Group August 2021.pdfpchutichetpong
The U.S. economy is continuing its impressive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and not slowing down despite re-occurring bumps. The U.S. savings rate reached its highest ever recorded level at 34% in April 2020 and Americans seem ready to spend. The sectors that had been hurt the most by the pandemic specifically reduced consumer spending, like retail, leisure, hospitality, and travel, are now experiencing massive growth in revenue and job openings.
Could this growth lead to a “Roaring Twenties”? As quickly as the U.S. economy contracted, experiencing a 9.1% drop in economic output relative to the business cycle in Q2 2020, the largest in recorded history, it has rebounded beyond expectations. This surprising growth seems to be fueled by the U.S. government’s aggressive fiscal and monetary policies, and an increase in consumer spending as mobility restrictions are lifted. Unemployment rates between June 2020 and June 2021 decreased by 5.2%, while the demand for labor is increasing, coupled with increasing wages to incentivize Americans to rejoin the labor force. Schools and businesses are expected to fully reopen soon. In parallel, vaccination rates across the country and the world continue to rise, with full vaccination rates of 50% and 14.8% respectively.
However, it is not completely smooth sailing from here. According to M Capital Group, the main risks that threaten the continued growth of the U.S. economy are inflation, unsettled trade relations, and another wave of Covid-19 mutations that could shut down the world again. Have we learned from the past year of COVID-19 and adapted our economy accordingly?
“In order for the U.S. economy to continue growing, whether there is another wave or not, the U.S. needs to focus on diversifying supply chains, supporting business investment, and maintaining consumer spending,” says Grace Feeley, a research analyst at M Capital Group.
While the economic indicators are positive, the risks are coming closer to manifesting and threatening such growth. The new variants spreading throughout the world, Delta, Lambda, and Gamma, are vaccine-resistant and muddy the predictions made about the economy and health of the country. These variants bring back the feeling of uncertainty that has wreaked havoc not only on the stock market but the mindset of people around the world. MCG provides unique insight on how to mitigate these risks to possibly ensure a bright economic future.

The European Unemployment Puzzle: implications from population agingGRAPE
We study the link between the evolving age structure of the working population and unemployment. We build a large new Keynesian OLG model with a realistic age structure, labor market frictions, sticky prices, and aggregate shocks. Once calibrated to the European economy, we quantify the extent to which demographic changes over the last three decades have contributed to the decline of the unemployment rate. Our findings yield important implications for the future evolution of unemployment given the anticipated further aging of the working population in Europe. We also quantify the implications for optimal monetary policy: lowering inflation volatility becomes less costly in terms of GDP and unemployment volatility, which hints that optimal monetary policy may be more hawkish in an aging society. Finally, our results also propose a partial reversal of the European-US unemployment puzzle due to the fact that the share of young workers is expected to remain robust in the US.
What website can I sell pi coins securely.DOT TECH
Currently there are no website or exchange that allow buying or selling of pi coins..
But you can still easily sell pi coins, by reselling it to exchanges/crypto whales interested in holding thousands of pi coins before the mainnet launch.
Who is a pi merchant?
A pi merchant is someone who buys pi coins from miners and resell to these crypto whales and holders of pi..
This is because pi network is not doing any pre-sale. The only way exchanges can get pi is by buying from miners and pi merchants stands in between the miners and the exchanges.
How can I sell my pi coins?
Selling pi coins is really easy, but first you need to migrate to mainnet wallet before you can do that. I will leave the telegram contact of my personal pi merchant to trade with.

P8 BHOREAL
Open Source control interface for multimedia
applications intended for DJs, VJs, musicians,
hackers and DIY creators.
REWARDS
LOOKING FOR
COLLECTIVE BENEFITS
Do you want to make your own control interface?
And do you want to control all the software and hardware you use for your multimedia
projects with it?
In addition.... Do you want it to have an attractive, flexible and open source design?
Stop beating around the bush! The thing you want is BHOREAL.
BHOREAL is an Open Source interface based on the Arduino platform that allows to control
all types of software and hardware using a surface with RGB LED-backlit pushbuttons.
You can use it as OSC/MIDI device to trigger samples live, as sequencer, synthesizer,
rhythmbox, pitch map generator or remote control. It can also work in standalone mode as
algorithmic and generative driver, mathematical simulator, game interface, low resolution
LED display or any other kind of application you can imagine.
Thanks to its versatility, BHOREAL is a fundamental tool for DJs, VJs, musicians, artists,
hackers and all kinds of creative DIY people willing to explore a piece of hardware which
is infinitely reconfigurable and reprogrammable.
GOALS OF THE CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN
The main objective is to raise the necessary funds to cover the design, production and
documentation costs of a new line of Open Source products drawing upon technology
and creation fields.
In the short term, we want to develop a reference web platform for you to access contents
and useful information related to the project, including schematics, manuals, video
tutorials, examples, links, forums, FAQs, etc.
We also want to build a large community around this project and to establish connections
with other communities of users who have a similar approach to the understanding and
development of open hardware, therefore encouraging the use of open source tools in
different areas.
In the medium/long term, we want to set the basis for developing software apps, with the
aim of integrating BHOREAL with the largest possible number of existing and emerging
platforms and audiovisual environments.
