2. Problem and Question
 Problem that your App Will Solve...
 Not having the newest software update on your computer
can be dangerous and installing can take a long time.
 Question
 Can we update our computers from a remote app allowing
us to do it anytime and anywhere?

3. What we want to achieve
 An app that allows anyone with an Android to update their
software on their computers through a wireless network.
 Create a very simple app for this function.
 Both pieces of software completely free on computer and
mobile devices.
 An app that is very reliable and doesn’t fail, function is key.

4. Why our App?
 Nothing does exactly what our app does, so there are no
other alternatives to it.
 With UpToDate you can be anywhere on the earth, and as
long as you have service on your phone, you can manage
the software on your computer, download new software
and updates to keep your computer ready for the next time
you use it, putting you ahead in business and life.

5. What We Learned
 People Don’t like to spend money, so a free app is always
better.
 People like easier lives, so anything that can make their life
easier is a potential product that they would be interested
in.
 People don’t like things that don’t make their life easier, so
anything that doesn’t is bound to be out.
 Ideas are great, but function is key. It won’t matter how
many cool things it can do when it can’t even work in the
first place.

6. Mini Elevator Pitch
My team, Uptodate, is developing the
Uptodate app to help anyone with a
computer solve freezing, un-responding,
slowing computers by making it easier
to update your computer from your
mobile device.

7. What we created
 The idea of our app is to have software on your computer
and your mobile device, and have this software control the
rest of your software on your computer.
 You can update any piece of software like iTunes from your
phone, that way you don’t have to do it when you need to
use your computer.
 You can remotely download new software.
 Downloading photoshop won’t take 8 hours anymore, it’ll be
ready for you when you turn your computer on.

8. Our Target Demographic
 People who use their computer as a tool for business
 Highschool Students
 College Students
 Anyone in the business world
 We want wide appeal to help everyone stay up to date.

12. What it looks like
When users first open the
app they will be
prompted to login to
their UpToDate account.
They will then be presented
with the main menu, where
they can either select to
update their computer or too
change their settings. Users
can also logout and exit the
app.

13. You can then choose what type of
software you want to update,
from games, everyday software
or your whole OS
Users are then prompted
with what specific
computer they want to
update. You can add more
computers by using the
“Add a New Computer”
button.

14. You are then given an
ETA of how long it will
take to update
They then can
choose the
specific program
they want to
update, with
information on
version numbers
and data size.

15. When out of the app your
phone will tell you when the
update has been completed.

16. Technical Feasibility:
 My partners and I made this prototype app through app
inventor in our summer class
 We’re new to computer science and would need technical
assistance to have this app make updates.

17. What we enjoyed most...
 The coolest thing while working on UpToDate was seeing it’s
progress as me and my team were creating it, especially
seeing it operate on a tablet.
