Topic: Sustainable Development
I. What is Sustainable Development?
Sustainable Development consist in satisfying the needs of the present
generations without harming the possibilities of the future ones to attend their own
needs and it can be divided in three aspects: economic, social, and environmental.
II. Sustainable Development on Coahuila state
Coahuila state has been implementing different types of projects that have to do
with the sustainable development of the same on three different areas: economy,
social and environment.
In the social aspect, Coahuila has created many public works and has been trying
to extend the basic services to different communities; some examples are the
paving of 130 blocks, the installation of 275 poles for electrical service use and
some others works. In society, education has suffered really badly in these past
years, letting Coahuila with a 36% of education deficiency but the government has
made the inversion of 570 million pesos to end with the deficiency in primary,
middle and superior education. 931 learning spaces that will be 564 classrooms
and 11 rehabilitations, all of these are to help 321 schools and these is what is
waited to do with the resources invested.
Economy another important area and because Coahuila is one of the most
important states in the production of manufacturing jobs, from mining industry to
the production of cars in Mexico being the 25% of the total production on the
country making the state #1 in Mexico. Also is necessary to mention that Coahuila
is one of the states with the biggest production of fabrics and because it’s a border
to the United States, it’s contemplated the productions of Mexican products with
destination to the neighbor country, leaving as result an income of various millions
of dollars for the state and for our country.
Finally we have the environmental area, being one of the most important topics in
our times causing many problems in the past few years because of different factors
that affect the planet, not in the same way directly but in any moment they will
suffer some consequences because of this problem. Coahuila has the desert with

2. the biggest biological diversity in the world and this carries the protection,
preservation and care of the same, another aspect are the coal mines where most
of these material is extracted, it has been implemented a program that establishes
that it can only be extracted a specific amount of coal so that this natural resource
doesn’t runs out so fast and have a sort of control with the extraction of these
material.
III. Solution proposals
Our delegation proposes:
Social Area: implement a plan that establishes to make a tour of the whole state,
taking note of the most important necessities for the population and satisfy them in
an efficient and at the same time well done way.
Give professional capacitation to the teachers and educative personal in schools in
order that the education in imparted as it should be, to end with the educational
deficiency in the state.
Economic Area: continue with the creation of new jobs in the different working
areas available to diminish the unemployment in the state and implement a quality
control program on every manufacturing company to preserve or even raise the
total income gained from the exportation of Mexican products.
Environmental Area: Implement the necessary care measures on the different
ecosystems that are in the state and turn them into protected natural areas by the
country for its preservation to avoid their destruction and keep on with the
extraction control of prime materials program and the production of the same to
avoid its total run out so it doesn’t affects the different ecosystems that surrounds
it.
