This document outlines the 16 Habits of Mind philosophy and its implementation at a kura (school). The habits seek to develop important qualities in students such as problem solving and thinking skills. The role is to facilitate embedding the habits into classroom practice, values, and strategic planning. Professional development has covered the habits and creating resources like posters. Intended outcomes are high performing students and teachers with collaborative and effective problem solving dispositions. Implementation will continue being tracked and reinforced in curriculum, reporting, and professional development.
